They'll probably sculpt more options for the positions at a later date. They market the box as a starter set. You don't need a bunch of different models confusing new players. I think we're all a little spoiled by the 3rd party manufacturers who give us all unique poses for each positional on the team. GW is a MINIATURES company... They will make the miniatures. I think we just need to have a little patience and wait it out.

I hardly see how having 2 sculpts for Blitzers and 2 sculpts for Black Orcs would be confusing instead of 1 sculpt for each and 3 different Lineorc sculpts.

Let's say you are about to learn chess.
Both knights, rooks, bishops and all the eight pawns do the same... but look different!
There you go, being confused pretty easy.

That is the main concern for me when converting a team from other miniatures:
To make all positionals easy to recognize, even for my opponent who doesn't know what I was thinking when creatng them.

I've heard that this is what they're going to do, market an "expansion kit" to fill out the positionals. But if they do this, I *really* hope it's going to be released with the box, or at least announced with the box. I paint my teams all at once, and I don't want to sit around with half an orc team, waiting another year for them to finish it.

Right now I've been planning to swap the humans for someone else's orcs and immediately have everything. (Everything except a troll ...). I'm not *too* worried about position variety, I don't like everyone in the same pose, but GW is usually pretty good about giving extra arms and heads and optional stuff, and having models fit into several different positions. I have my issues with GW but they really are good at making models.

Why don't you join the current league in Derby?

I don't know if they are, and I'm not trying to be negative, but as an heads up, if these models are made in the same way as the champions are in the Gorechosen game they'll be a one way to build, and one way only, unless you have good conversion skills.
But like I say, I'm honestly not sure (as I haven't bothered to look at the sprues to closely).

Here are the sprues.

The humans look like a small saw might be all you need to tweak the arms and legs a bit. Think most of the heads on the humans attach separately, too. That'll make head swaps pretty easy.

As for the orcs, there are so many panels that any hacking and slashing can probably be covered by one of the panels, they look like shield-sized jockstraps!

Thanks for linking those. It looks like the game comes with 2 identical sprues of 6 orcs each. So once I do my swap, I'll have four identical Black Orcs and four identical Bliters.

Even though the figures don't really look especially posable, or modular, I should be able to do enough head swaps or arm repositions to make each figure unique. Worst comes to worst, with 12 Lineman (!!), I ought to have enough spare parts to work with. Plastic is so much easier to work with than metal.

If the heads are swappable, and the Human Blitzers are only denoted by their helmets, does that mean that there are effectively 4 Blitzers (if you get hold of two extra heads)?

I'm thinking that the Blitzer head can fit on the Blitzer body, and the three lineman bodies.

Does that make any sense?

It does and it might even be possible to mold the crest on the blitzer helmet so you can add a green stuff version to a lineman for an instant blitzer. Just guessing, but perhaps

I doubt the heads are swapable as in other kits (any head fits any torso). You can see some necks and chests are part of the heads (humans), sometimes the shoulder pads or arms too (orcs). You will have to fill holes or cut parts, or maybe fully assemble with plastic glue, then cut. It's the mono pose style so the moulds can be done: first design then split in blocks where the undercuts are zero or loss of original shape is acceptable.

I'm also gonna cut the spikes off the linemen, to make the Blitzers more obvious.

Just want the box now, keep looking at the sprues and getting more ideas!

It`s quite nice the human heads are glued on seperately. This way its also possible to convert a Bretonnian team pretty easy.

comixininos just posted a confirmed (according to them) price for everything going on pre-order on the 12th
85 euros for the box
20 euros for death zone 1
25 euros for the skaven team
10 euros for 10 skaven themed dice
they said they just got off the phone with GW before posting and GW confirmed the prices.
