Hi all,
I voted for both.
We've had a modified dark elf for 2 (or is it 3) seasons around here, so I've got some actual-playtest feedback.

Our initial change was this:
1. darkies lost their throwers (thereby access to PA category on 2 players).
2. darkies got ST-skills on blitzers (new vategory on 2 players).
3. throwers replaced by assassins (lineman with dagger).

It worked fine.
Changing access to 1 category for access to another category worked fine. It also made the whole "dark elfs prefer the running game" make a little more sense.
The dagger skill was probably a bit too good as a replacement for the pass skill.

Now, that GW has cranked the darkies up to 4 blitzers, our roster is a tad too good. So - we'll be removing the daggers.
Coincidentally, we'll be replacing them with "runners" - i.e. linemen with sure hands and no access to PA skills.

And that's what I'd vote for:
0-4 blitzers with G, AG and ST.
and - as "payment" for that
0-2 runners replace the throwers.

Martin :)

I have to tell you, Mestari, that I agree with Plasmoid. The fluff more than allows for an "assassin" position. I though it might be cool, with an "assassin" that "shadows" opposing players.

But it really doesn't matter much what he's called.
It's the position that counts.

Personally, I'm happy with either of the following solutions. All of them will make the dark elf play style different from the High Elf one. Make them more "bashy" and more a running team.

I'll post a new thread, with a poll, and see which of the team lists get the most votes.

Because they have an irrational hatred of all things warhammer. They want a football game with a little bit of generic fantasy thrown in. Not the rich and varied world of warhammer. So they advocate removing all non-sports named positions and giving them a sporting name. They want to change the imagery of the players so they look like cheesy fantasy miniatures in sports uniforms (more so than the current line). And, they want to divorce Blood Bowl form the warhammer universe in everyway they can.

All too true unfortunately. I think the new line mini's are cool though.
But I agree with you, it is Warhammer Fantasy Football.

And I also belive GW will keep it as such.

Probably just a buch of guys, that are afraid their girlfriends will laugh at them if they say they play Fantasy football.

Much easier to say, "It's a table top football game"

The vast majority of youger players I think rather enjoy the fluff.

(not too many of them on this forum though)

Cheers

I would like to formally enter into the poll that the dark elves have an agility 3 instead of the 4!

I would also like to formally enter into the poll that the dark elves have an armor value of 7!

I hate the thought of Elves with Strength access. An easy way to get Guards with 4 AG just doesn't sit right with me at all.

He has? Oh, well in that case, it's cyber-fantasy football.

Still, that's just a preferance. The point being with the "assasin" position, and the runners instead of passers, and maybe DE losing passing skills, and gaining ST skills will make it into a far more exciting (and different than Helfs) team.

Still, fluffwise, the "assassin" position works fluffwise with regards to DE history. But The position name really has no effect on other than tastes.
I just like the idea.

Now, how do you feel about the changes?
(that probably never will be implemented)
