I forget that not everyone will be "in on the joke"....
The "Lizzie Bordens" (Lizardmen) are from an infamous axe murder(ess) circa 1893 (USA)....
From the UMKC School of Law website:
Lizzie Borden took an axe,
And gave her mother forty whacks,
When she saw what she had done,
She gave her father forty-one.
Actually, the Bordens received only 29 whacks, not the 81 suggested by the famous ditty, but the popularity of the above poem is a testament to the public's fascination with the 1893 murder trial of Lizzie Borden. The source of that fascination might lie in the almost unimaginably brutal nature of the crime--given the sex, background, and age of the defendant--or in the jury's acquittal of Lizzie in the face of prosecution evidence that most historians today find compelling.

If you have to explain it, it's not funny. But I got it immediately and I'm not even Catholic! Very funny! And dirty could mean sooo many things too.tomros wrote:My friend calls his amazons, which are represented by the Shadowforge nuns, The Dirty Habits. In case you don't know a nuns garment is called a habit, puns are fun .
The same friend calls his dwarfs The Major Miners.

Necromantic
It's a fumbble team name from paulhicks. Everyone who knows him, will see that this name fits perfect.
In my league i play:
Rhythm of Loec
Woodelf
This team name is refering to the god "Loec" of the Warhammer Woodies. It sais, Wardancers fight to the sounds of Loec.
I am currently searching for a nice High Elf Team Name (and Starting Roster (and Strategy)).
If i would play Orcs next season, finding the right team name would be easy:

My Necromantic-Team were called Wasteland Stompers, my orcs are called ChiCargo Boars (converting real Tema Names into fantasy) and of course my Ratttling Gunz (Skaven) and Elvish Helloweener (Pro Elves with Elvis as Trainer :>) And It´s not always about the name... you should take a name you can remember fast (Nordish by [Brain-]Activity from my Norse :>)

I've been working on my friends and roommates to get them interested in playing. My roommate Angelique became interested when I mentioned there was an Amazon team. She asked about male cheerleaders, but that's a different thread. She looked at the GW stuff and saw the coach with a whip and instantly knew her team name.Highlander wrote:And if I ever find miniatures I like to represent Amazons I'd call them Manchasers United.
You see, we're a bunch of performers at a local Renaissance Festival, and one of her bits is to take her small whip, flick the end around behind a guy, grab the end, and pull the guy up close to her. She calls it her Man-catcher. After seeing the coach she knew her team had to be called Man-catcher United.
