I do agree with you zombie, when you say that the trait should have some effect somewhere on the pitch, just like allmost all other traits (xcept fore 'take root' I guess)

But I also think that attacking players, even your own, might bee too much of a disadvantage.

Even allways hungry gives just a very small (1 in 36??) chance of losing a player, and then you'll only lose a gobbo.

I would prefer the idea, dunno what it was exactly, thet on the roll of '1' a randomly selected vamp would do the nasty thing.

Or maybe that only one vamp can attack someone per turn (you stop rolling as soon as you 'failed' the roll for one player) This however might even want you to fail the roll in certain occasions (perhaps not too good an idea after all ... )

I do think some changes should be in order for OFAB ... at least somewhere ... not??

Even though I showed how you could coach the team and very rarely attack your own players even with 4 Vampires?

Goblin = 40k = Thrall .... seem's like I could just as easily say I only lose a Thrallo.

I honestly think those who see big negative here are overstating the case, but oh well, we'll test it in the MBBL and see what happens.

I like the change to OFAB and I don't agree that it's too negative. In 2 test matches so far (halfway through 1st half in one and starting 2nd half in the other), still no failed roll. Wait, I just remembered we're still using old OFAB in game with DD. Anyway, I don't think COFAB is too negative, but I think it's better than old OFAB.

People, stop comparing COFAB with other negative racial caracteristics. Trolls are 4 5 1 9, vampires are 6 4 4 8 (or 5 4 4 8, depending where you look). Of course they need a bigger handicap! If COFAB isn't much, much, MUCH more negative than really stupid, then we've failed in balancing the team.

We're going to give COFAB a try in the Scotts Valley Blood Bowl League.

We also have an active Goblin team in the league. It will be interesting to see how the Vampires fair in comparison to the Goblins this tournament.

This is going a bit OT, but I wanted to say that Star Wars is just an overinflated parody of the greatest sci-fi movie ever, Space Balls.

so, may the Schwartz be with you

"But I lost the ring of the Schwartz!"

And an even more important issue: currently, Vamps are the ONLY big-guy team. No other team has access to so many big guys being on the pitch. So, not only are they the most powerful big guys, but they can field a ton of them too. This team needs a major negaskill like COFAB in order to make the team even remotely fair.

Torg's right he has yet to fail a single COFAB roll with 2 Vamps and we've yet to finish the 1st half. And the vamps definitely are not both rolling every turn. When a Thrall needs to dodge to set up a critical play and fails and you were going to use the Vamps after that ... well there were 2 rolls you never made. Torg's also keeps using his re-rolls for failed events other than COFAB rolls which makes me shudder a little bit ... I'll be interested to see how that works for him if he starts failing the rolls.

I'm playing a rookie MBBL Necromantic team against his 2 Vampire/3 Reroll team and so far they are very evenly matched (no score yet and the 1st half is nearing completion).

Finally Zombie nailed it on the head. If you want an ON pitch mechanic that would allow all 6 Vampires + the Lord to be fielded ... it cannot be wimpy. Vampires are serious kick butt players.

Not sure where the 5/4/4/8 stats are being reported. BB Mag #4 is clearly 6/4/4/8. Just to make sure no confusion.

Anybody interested in taking a Vamp team against my Chaos Pact team?
Just for sheist & giggles?
I have a horrible PBeM record so you might get to thrash me pretty good and then claim that the team is overpowered! lol

Anyone want to give 1 lord, 0-2 vamps, 10-16 thralls a try? I'd be interested how a vamp team goes with only the 3 players to rely on.

My apologies if this has already been addressed on another thread.

If a Thrall has not taken an action this turn and is stunned by a Vamp that failed COFAB, can the Thrall take an action (unstun) this turn?
