I'm just really sick of all the USA trashing on this board.

Norse have you ever even been to America or do you just make sweeping judgements about everyone?
You are totally wrong in how you describe me. You forgot my big cowboy boots and my banjo.

And don't forget my white pointy hood and burning cross.

Jeez you are pathetic.

I'm sick of this, goodbye.

I don't think taking back moves is very sportsmen like.

I think maybe some of you Europeans who are calling names should have your soccer teams offer their opponents re-licks if they miss the goal on the first time.

God, why is everything a life or death comptetition with you Euro types?

I consider paying attention to be part of being a good competitor.

KNowing what one of my players is strength 3 and which one is strenth 4 before I declare a blitz with him/her.

Paying attention also consists of looking up what skills the player I have to dodge away from has before I go for the game winning TD.

I don't take much pride in beating somebody I have to remind to pay attention.

However once he'd rolled the dice that's tough. And its good sportsmanship, on his part, to accept you've messed up and get on with the game.
Agreed.

Also, as a commissioner, I try to frequently remind experienced coaches in our league that it is their responsibility (and just plain good sportsmanship) to help out the newer coaches. If that means pointing out bad moves ahead of time, then so be it. Part of having exciting close matches is having experienced opponents. Sharing knowledge with the newbies in the best way to get them experienced.

Hmm gotta say that on topic I woul probably have let him take back the move. But at the end of the game where it's the only possible blitz to save the draw what difference does it make? It also depends on the coach - a newbie I would give more leeway too if it was Ian Williams then tough he's killed enough of my wood elves to know better!

Basically it depends on the situation though with an unknown opponent in a sportmanship points situation I would be inclined to give the take back and trust in Nuffle to see me through.

On the yank bashing just to stick my oar in I can't say I've noticed any difference in sporting play against any of the non-Brits I've played. (I've played Brit wankles and non-Brit wankles - there's wankles the world over  ) Though if anyone really wants to get into politics discussion with TBB members drop me a PM and I'll see about directing folks to a debating site that I mod.

"paying attention" here means that my opponent should've either known the Wight had tackle OR should have asked. At the beginning of my turns, if I don't know who's where on the opposing team, I ask. That's part of being a good coach, I always thought.

sportsmanship

Post by gken1 »

I don't think I would have let him take it back either. It's the last turn of the game and he didn't know that the wight had tackle. Just not thinking.

But on the sportsmanship note, I do not call IP's...think they are cheesy. Just tell the guy to move his turn marker.

As for the stating Pass thing, whenever I move my ballcarrier, unless I am gonna blitz or block with him I say Pass....because you don't have to throw the ball if you don't want to and no one else is gonna pass if you don't at least hand off the ball so you're not wasting an action.

Just like to explain that my earlier (un-necessary) comments on "Americans" have nothing to do with any conflict which may or may not be ongoing at present or at any other time...

They were not based on any "Americans" I have played at Blood Bowl or any "Americans" I have ever met.

They were based on the posts on this very topic, where most European gamers seemed to be saying "I would have let him take it back" or "I would have warned him first" while most "Americans" seemed to be saying "tough, I win" or "you should have known better" or similar sentiments... boy, am I tired using " now...

Pariah, I have never been to the US.. I have always perceived it as a drug, crime and gun riddled version of Canada, which I do visit every 2 years on average and love the country and the people. This is not a flame, but a genuine observation which may or may not be correct. I guess it depends if you are in South-Central LA or the middle of Arizona...

So, just like to say sorry to most Americans out there I offended. I was having a :pissed: off day and seeing posts like "burn the newbie and win 6-0" just get me even more :pissed: .

Norse:

Do you know most Americans' view of Amsterdam?

They think it is a drug-infested, prostitute-loving, over-taxed sh*thole with cool architecture and boats. :D That doesn't mean it is. We all have access to the greatest information gathering tool the world has ever seen. We should all take advantage of it to learn about the rest of the world. People like us should know better than to believe "mainstream" media.

The song doesn't refer to killing indigienous people, it refers to killing the British. And the General Lee was a Dodge Challenger, not a Mustang :P
