The new Elf team

I know it's an obvious thing to say and it's been said before but do we really need another Elf team? If you want to play with MA5 AV9 players use Dwarves or Orcs! Just seems weird for GW to put this much thought into a team that we ceratinly don't need seeing as there are already 3 Elf Teams, and then apply as much time to the Ogre team (that was wanted) as it took to write it down.

there are no new rules for the new elf team yet, don't pay attention to the silly ideas poeple are floating about.

A low movement, high agility team would be interesting. Imagine a team with dwarf-like movement and 4 AG across the board. They would have interesting playability.

My personal theory is that they'll abolish both DE's and HE's to combine them into the new team, maybe 12-18 months after releasing the new Elves. Obviously they don't want to say that yet as they'll get loads of stick.

Wow, while they're at it, maybe they should also:

- abolish all teams except for Goblins and 'Flings
- add the Ogre team, Chaos Pact, Khemri and Vampires

because, well, that would just be a great idea

there is a reason they'd catch loads of flack for it too it's a horrible idea.

god and all of you as my witness, if the bb dark elf team is abolished in favor of some lame new "elf" team just for the sake of new figs, i will sell every bit of the gw stuff i own...the bloodbowl, the warhammer, all of it. ebay will be flooded with dark elves.

they won't do it tho...they'd never get rid of a team they have figs for.

...uh, have heard what they've done to the undead...?

Even though you could use your dark elf minis for the new team, and I could use my mummy minis for the flesh golems, it just isn't right.

I feel the same as you, 'cept my team's number has already come up...

If they combine the elf teams, they will be going aginst every bit of elf fluff published for over the last decade!

The Dark and High elves HATE each other. They would never play on the same team. That is like asking an orc/gobolin and a dwarf to play on the same team.

Well we have dwarfs and elfs on the same Pact team don't we?

I bet they they'll try to unify them into one race and then you can just pick Dark or High.

As for getting rid of a team they still have minis for? They didn't do that.

They rearranged the team to sell more minis. The same minis are still for sale but in such a way to maximize sales.

As much as I would love AV 9 on Elves, turning the elves into MA5 AV9 is very unelvish. Never do that. Elf teams are supposed to be fast and agile.

All of the elf teams.

The changes to DE's seems nice. I would replace the daggerwith shadowing perhaps, but it looks nice.

The woodelves are the supreme passing style team, and if you change the Dark Elves to the running game style, you could turn the high elves into the inbetween.

By leaving them much as they are now really. Maybe give the DW's ST skills, and put a tax on the thrower. ??

I've played them in 2 days before. All depends on how often each of you check email and have 7 minute blocks of time during the day. Basically its streamlined to the point where you need 17 emails to play a game. How many days it takes for those 17 emails depends on the two people playing and how many mistakes they make that require redos (this is usually zero for most games I play anymore).

Anyway, I only add this in, because I want to see Martyn get better with Elves.
