Why can't Jump Up be used with Pass Block ?

As i read "Jump Up" it is used at the beginning of a player action...
"A player with this skill may stand up for free at the start of any
action; he does not have to pay three squares of movement..."
Isn't a "Pass Block" move "any action" ?
Furthermore, as I play Pass Block, a Player may use Pass Block to "Stand Up" (costs 3 Squares of Movement) if it enables him to tackle or intercept.
I hope that is "correct".

If i read Galak's site correctly, this is up for review as well in October. Locally we play it this way now as it made the most sense to us.

As the rules currently stand there are 6 actions that a player can perform:
Pass, Move, Block, Blitz, Foul and Hand-Off - anything else is just using a skill.

I wholeheartedly agree with Furelli. Also, if you try to passblock by using Jump Up, it means you got knocked down THAT turn!!! (unless you were Stunned, which would be rare). Trying to get up for free on your OPPONENT'S turn AND move 3 squares to try to intercept his pass is about as cheesy (aka beardy) a move as I've ever heard of. Just bringing it up in conversation irks me.
In essense...no, it should NOT be allowed. Ever.

Suggestion:
"A player with this skill may stand up for free at the start of the next turn. (Either his or the opposing teams next turn)."
This would boost jump up - the guy is now only knocked down for the current turn and allow Pass Block as long as the payer has not been knocked down in the current turn...

Am I the only one who thinks jump-up is amazing as is.

I find it very useful and underestimated, yet still dislike Norse Blitzers because of it.

Toby: This discussion has been had many times. Some coaches, myself included, suggested a similar rule change which Chet has included in the test ruleset:
