If anyone is going to Games Day Canada on Saturday, be sure to come by the Toronto Blood Bowl Federation tables in the Clubs area! We'll be there showing BB to the masses and engaging in some "unfriendlies" on the pitch. Our very own Ian Dundas, Canadian Tournament Guy for the NAF will be dishing out info about the upcoming organization and Brian St. James (TH Lapin) will be stopping by to promote his excellent zine House Rulez.

If you are coming down and want a game with us just drop by!

Well games day has come and gone and I have to say that I believe Blood Bowl is alive and well in the Toronto area. Heck I even met a few BBowlers from Montreal there as well. There were a LOT of people there and most of them were hanging out in the independant club are, the area we were in. And without boasting at all we were by far the busiest table in our area. The silver tongued Chris Baginski was just racking them in and we had a hard time keeping up.

I only wish I didn't have a headache the entire day :-? Next time I'll drive in the night before instead of the same morning.

You can see pictures and a full report of the event in the next issue of House Rulez Magazine.

Yes, Games Day was a huge success!

First of all thanks to Brian (TH Lapin) for coming down to help promote the NAF!

We ruled Games Day like Morg against Halflings. We figure we demo'd around 100 games at least and our area was packed non-stop for the whole day. everyone was very interested and excited about BB and I know we converted many people over to our cause ;)

The biggest problem was that BB is basically unavailable :( Hopefully this will be fixed soon because I am sure we could have sold tons of boxed sets if theyhad them!

If anyone else is doing any similar types of events let me know, we came up with lots of cool ideas and I think they worked really well.

Too bad the link on the GW site doesn't work to get you to the TBBF site ... gotta love technology.

Oh ... BTW ... very cool on the Survival Kit on your site Anthony. I'm working with JKL to get a Resurrection style/sized tournament at Gen Con 2003 since its in the middle of the US and boards were one of those issues that I was having some questions on. Might be able to create a few temp boards if all else fails from the Survival Kit to use. Already have started talked with Gen Con Ltd. to get a play area large enough for 80 players for a big one day showdown. .... I don't have time to run a two day one and its a LOT easier to get the one day all day slot of Gen Con than spread the tournament over 2 days. Unlike some of the other cons that BB is showing up at, Gen Con is VERY structured and corporate run, so getting in the door is an involved promise of asking "Mother, May I" in the right ways.

I originally thought it was going to be a chore to work as a volunteer at Games Day, even doing Blood Bowl. But I am surprised to say that we all handled the kids admirably, and doing demos for complete rookies was a blast! GD definately gets people into a fever about the games, and we were pretty much the busiest club there. People were swarming us like we had a table covered in drugs rather than a bunch of BB boards and some very well painted teams.

I'd do it again in a minute. Especially if they throw in another groovy GW worker-geek T-shirt again, and 60% off at the store. Heh heh!

(And damn, the rest of the guys make me look short in that pic... #%$* giants!)
