You have the ball, you end up next to a prone player with 1MA left. No 1 else can stop you from getin a TD in your next turn apart from the prone player. Do you foul them tin order to stop them geting up in the next turn?

Did you declare the action as a foul?

No. Sods law says my guy gets sent off.

In my league we pretty much let the coaches do the foul when they please, as long as they only do a single one of them in the turn! Is it stated that if you foul when you didn't declare it first hand you get sent out right away?

Nope! I try to move another player and foul with him. At least the ball-carrier won't be sent off.

I voted yes, and if anybody votes no, i'm officially declaring him inapt to play them game!

But just to avoid confusion, you should specify that the player you're talking about isn't the one carrying the ball (or is he? in that case, specify whether another player could reach the prone player) and make it clear that the player hasn't started moving yet, so it's not too late to declare a foul.

Hey! I voted no. The simple reason is that I have a very good chance of rolling badly... I don't want the chap carrying the ball sent off just because he fouls. (Moving another player is another matter, but the question suggested it was the ball carrier.)

Cheers,
Martyn

Ah, the good old ambiguous poll again. Strengths? Skills? AVs? RRs?
I'd be tempted to go in with the boot rather than suffer a 1D Blitz. less tempted if I was Blodge. More so if he had a RR in hand. AV7 I definately would. AV9 I probably wouldn't.
Not enough info to weigh the odds!

YES!!

But it depends on the score and at what time during the match.

If I could get another player to do it, he'd do it.

Well if the only player that can foul is carrying the ball then its (probably) a no.... if you have other players that can foul then I would first of all cover (put a TZ) the prone player and then foul him with another player.

It also makes a difference as to whether you can make the TD if you are prone or not. As Zombie says.... there are too many ifs... number of turns left... the score..... etc

As been said too many ifs but yes in principle, but not with the ball carrier etc

I said no, thinking only the ball carrier. if i can foul with someone else, heck yea, stomp the lil pisser into south pole.

I think the general concensus is not to foul with the ball carrier, but stomp the crap out of him with another player, if you can get there.

Now, assuming that I could reach the following situation:

EEEEE E=empty square
EBOD D=downed player
EEEEE O=my player, B=ball-carrier

If he has high AG and/or MA, suitable skills and average or low AV (i.e. a WARPRANCER!), I'd kick him.

If on the other hand, he has low MA and AG and thus is practically unable to blitz the ball-carrier, I'd be tempted not to risk it. Yes, he could blitz the other guy to have a TZ on me, but I could then either dodge or blitz my way through.

So, my answer would be: it depends.
