halflings

Halflings? wow im impressed. I was underthe impression that basicly no one played halflings.

Always cool to see people playing the "less popular" stuff.

Heh, heh, heh .... talk to Darkson about Halflings.

My Halflings played his Skaven last week. He had half his team KO and Injured before the game was finished. Flings won 2-1. Sorry Darkson, I promise to stop talking about that game. Darkson has a good sense of humor about it at least. Next time he stomps me into the game, I'm sure payback will be coming.

Oh yah, folks play Halflings. They may not win but then victory conditions are different if you play Halflings. To me mentally I win, if I loss by less than one TD and score at least one TD in a game .. under those conditions I am 6-1 with Flings. Playing Flings is about mentally changing the rules for victory. If you can be competitive with Flings, then you've really gone far as a coach.

Wanna have fun?? Play the 'Flings !!!!

Got a team as well (Mootland Dragons)

They once beat my friends skaven 1 - 0, a running TD with no more skaven (OK just 4 or so) on the pitch. Felt very very very good.

Next match they lost 4, but hey, who cares?

And don't let anyone tell you AV6 is to weak. In my game against Galak I only broke armour once (twice if you count the crowd) and even that was for a KO only. I think Galak hurt himself more than I did  .

I vote to bring back the 2nd ed Food special rule for 'Flings.

Damn short-arses, mutter, mutter.....

Isn't that cheating, like? Is that covered in LRB?

Many a person claims victory despite defeat ....

Chinese general during the war with Japan was asked by a reporter (true story):
"Sir, the newest reports are that we are suffering 12 deaths for every 1 Japanese death. Can you comment?"
Chinese General: "Good we are winning."

So while the score says you've lost, you can still declare victory.

My record with Flings in the last 7 months:
True LRB victory rules (ie scoring more TDs) : 2-6
Victory condition (scored at least 1 TD and lost by only 1 TD): 7-1
Victory condition (scored at least 1 TD): 8-0

So its just my take on the playing Flings:
Reporter: "Galak, its my understanding that you've suffered 5 casualties and are currently losing 3-2 in this game."
Galak: "Good we are winning!" :D

What I'm trying to say in other words is you probably aren't going to start crushing teams left and right in your league with Flings, but if make sure no one walks into the match against you cocky ... you've accomplish quite a bit ... which is what I mean by mentally changing the victory conditions.

Played a practice game for the Spiky with the Wodell boys. My second game was against Will's gobbos with the Red Guard Rats. Since it was a tournament practice game I went all out to win - knowing I'd probably meet some tough little guy coaches at the tournament.

Will kept trying 1 turn TDs and I had managed to shut him down for most of it. By the time I was 3 touchdowns up the focus of the game subtly shifted - the conditions for victory changed, if Will managed a 1 turn TD he'd have won in spirit if not on the board.

Made for a very exciting game - I eventually lost when he managed a 1 turn TD in the last quarter.

My halflings (the Halves and Half-Not's coached by Chutney Speared) are only 2-0 :-? One win was against Norse and the other against Orcs. The other players in my league started refusing to play against them (I seem to never fail the Take Root tests.) so I've had to use my Chaos Dwarves instead.
