First game for newbies

I've been learning some people Blood Bowl recently, and I was wondering if any of you have any advice on how to play the first game.
None of them I've played with have had any miniature or war games experience what so ever, so I've simplified the starting teams quite a bit. Problem is I have only two teams fully painted, Orcs and Dwarfs (and I really don't like the slow play of dwarfs). Thus I've used these team rosters:
Orcs (for the newbie)
2 Black Orcs 5329 Block
2 Blitzers 7339 Block
1 Thrower 6338 Pass, Sure Hands
7 Linemen 6339
3 RR
Dwarfs (for me)
9 Longbeards 5329 Thick Skull
2 Slayers 6338 Thick Skull, Block
1 RR
Making all players ST 3 really makes it easier for them to get used to the blocking rules.
I haven't used the kick-off table at all, and skipped Foul and some other rules as well.
The games have worked out all right, but I really should paint up a faster team to avoid changing all the movement stats.
Any comments/ideas?
