Booster packs

I saw in the US Online store that GW now sells booster packs for different BB teams. A Booster Pack would include, I believe, 1 of each positional player plus 1 lineman. So, for a Dwarf team the booster includes 1 slayer, 1 blitzer, 1 runner and 1 longbeard.
Typically GW trying to get still more profit? Just gone
really stupid?
Who would need extra Dwarf Blitzers, Runners or Troll Slayers!
A team can include only 2 of each and you already get those two in the Dwarf Team Box!!!
I ask you guys. What does GW think we are... I don't get it anymore!

I no longer think they are greedy, having seen what a mess wizards of the coast is on the inside, I have to say in all liklihood, there was a break down in communication, or someone made the call that had no knoledge of the game. I stupid crap like that at WoTC every day. I knew chainmail would tank, about 9 months before it hit the shelves.

I had mentioned the booster packs in an earlier thread, it did seem strange to just include 1 of every position regardless of whether it was usable or not. A number of teams are like that, don't need an extra mummy for undead, or WE for DEs, etc. The thing that struck me the most was the price, most were more expensive than buying the seperate minis by themselves so I don't see why anyone would buy boosters.

Check the Chaos Dwarf Boosters, $8 for 2 hobos and a CD. Buy 4 for $32 and you get the same minis as the team set at $40. That means 3 free minis.

The only possible useful application I could see would be scavenging the boosters for conversion stuff...

For conversion.
This could be very usefull for us and very profitable for GW.

If you would order a booster for conversing, you might as well order the specific model(s) you need for the convesion without buying other models in the booster

That's right, if you want to convert a specific model, it makes more sense to buy the model seperately not in a booster pack. So I don't see how they plan to make any money on these things, if you want specific minis to fill out your team or for convertion, you would just buy them seperately and it would be cheaper than most boosters.

being an (happly) ex member of GW staff the only thing i miss is the cheap orders...as for ripping you probaly dont know the half of it
