Zara the Star player...

Post by Redfang »

I wonder where GW got their inspiration for the Zara star player...

From this thread perhaps?

Roll on a D6.
1. No result.
2-5 Buffy and her mates attacked the vampires on their way to the match. In the fighting that followed, D3 players on the vampires team got injured, before they managed to get away from her. Both vampires and thralls are affected, since the thralls are used to defend the escaping vampires from her
6 Buffy comes to play Bloodbowl for the opposing team!

They gain an extra player for this match only!

1 Buffy 7447 Block Dodge Tackle Mighty Blow"Stakes"

Buffy will always block a Vampire when next to one at the beginning of the turn. (This does not have to be the first action she takes however.)
She will only be interested in the Ball if there are no vampires left on the pitch and must always be fielded if there are any vampires on the pitch.
Furthermore, if at the start of the turn Buffy could make a Blitz against a vampire, roll a d6. At 1 or 2 she will, using up the team's Blitz for the turn.
"Stakes" If Buffy kills a vampire, it stays dead, and cannot regenerate. For other injuries caused by Buffy will only be regenerated on a 5 or 6.
The ref is too much into Buffy's Boobs to be looking at her stakes, and so she will not have to pass any weapon rolls!

Can we get a Willow Star Player instead of a Buffy one?

How about some Zena villians as SP's? I recomend Calisto. Oh, I know how about an Emma Peel! Then all we need is a number 13 to compleat the selection.

Anime
sp's to come soon, maybe?

jervis did confess that he loved buffy, and it was his idea!

I don't think things like this are bad for the game - after all they are hardly core (by they I mean this and the ogre team for example)

They are more of a fun part, and provided they are taken and used in that context then they can only be a good thing. A lot of people are getting hung up on this kind of idea from GW!!

Those that don't like it and think it ruins the image of BB, don't buy it or use it. Those who want to paint the model and use it in matches should go for it!

I didn't mean to express an opinion about the model
I didn't mean to suggest anything bad at all!

All I wanted to do is point out that I once mentioned a Buffy character for BB (also for fun) and that now, coincidentally there is giong to be one of those.
It was only meant as a kind off funny pointer that GW does listen to us here on this board, something like that...

Redfang: I wouldn't mind betting that the Zara model had been in progress/in the pipeline before Oct 24th when that post was made.
Nice thought though! :)

If we were going to have a Star Trek Away team you'd need to have position players being the important ones and then the linemen could be the redshirts, all of whom would die every game.

Star Trek Roster:

0-10 Redshirt 5 3 2 7 30k G Beam Me Up!
0-4 Security Officer 6 3 3 7 40k G Beam Me Up!
0-2 Ensign 7 3 3 8 G 60,000
0-1 Science Officer 6 3 4 8 G,S 120,000 Nerves of Steel, Sure Feet
0-1 Captain 7 4 3 8 130k G,S Block, Leader

Rerolls: 40k

New Skill: Beam Me Up! players use a modified injury table. If a modified 8 or 9 is rolled on their injury table, they are beamed out of the game and placed in the reserve box. If an injury is suffered, the player should be considered dead, and no roll should be made on Siguard's injury table.

BB is nerdy enough without having to involve Star Trek.
