Vampires

I would like to have a few questions answered:
What makes the Vampire team special?
Having hobgoblins for lineman and having 4 (6 if your crazy) vampires does not a new team make.
Why are the vampires the only usefull player on the roster?
The Chaos Dwarves have the closest formula of a team to the vampires, but with 10 times the flavor (who here doesn't think having hobgoblin slaves, funny hats and Bull Centaurs! is a flavorfull mix?).
Why do the Vampires start with an uber player (i.e. the Lord)?
The only way to compare him is to a big guy, but he has no negative and he must be on the team. Why would they make a team that must have a Morg 'N' Thorg that can get SPP's?
Why did they change OFAB without compensating the cost formula?
"Yeah lets let 3/4 of the vampires always be on the pitch, plus the Lord". This makes no sense.
What are the mini's going to look like?
Is there already a finished team of Count Chocula wannabe's and feeble human lineman? I hope I don't have to see Von Drakenborg impersinators and armorless human on the bb pitch.
I've read threw the many pages of vampire ideas on this forum and not surprisingly i have a few of my own, but I'd like to take a look at the others first.
There is the COFAB. Does anyone else think having an offical team that has players mame other players is odd? It would be like giving Chaos Dwarves a Slave Driver postion (such as, 4 4 3 10 block,tackle,TS) and having him whip the hobgoblins because they couldn't think of a better way to fix the new way overpowered position.
I've also seen the Vampire Counts Idea. Why would anyone recomend having a fifth (15 offical - undead, plus four vampire teams) of the available teams be vampires? I like the effort to give the vampires flavor though, but the BB vamps have always seems to be Von Carsteins (at least von drakenborg and the whole count chocula looking model does).
Now for the inevitble response of what I think and what my oppinion is. When I began reading TBB I was hoping I could give my vote to somebody elses bandwagon but I don't see a functioning vampire team in any posts.
If the vampire team already has finish mini's then I'm skrewed, but here goes. I was snooping around Galak's site and came across the Spirit team (to many new rules IMO, but a nice flavor... the more undead undead team
). I was then later snooping around the GW online store looking for vampire figs so i could base my idea off something and I found the Warhammer vampire army roster (I know JJ is vearing away from this, but he's using Khemri so why not vampire counts too) and thought why not use the Spirit, Wraith, and Banshee minis?
This is a team i thunk up in less then an hour and no playtesting, but I figured why not post it.
0-12 Spirit 6336 Leap, Regenerate, Thick Skull 70K Gen
0-2 Wraith 6336 Leap, Regenerate, Thick Skull, Sure Hands 90K Gen, Passing
0-2 Banshee 6336 Leap, Regenerate, Thick Skull, Block 90K(maybe 100) Gen, Str
AND EITHER
0-4 Vampire 6438 Hypnotic Gaze, Regenerate 130K Gen, Str
OR
0-4 Vampire 6438 Hypnotic Gaze, Regenarate, OFAB (old every pitch version) 110K Gen, Str
I think this team would be fun to play (why wouldn't I? I though of it
). It feels like a real "undead" team. Most of the players have 6 armor, but Thick Skull and Reg. This means the team will not suffer to many casualties, but will most likely have half the team laying down every turn. The Leap skill gives them the eithereally floating around feel but with 3 agility it is as threating as a one turn score by a goblin throw. Overall the non-vampire players seem okay to me, but the vampires have always been the problem with every vampire team. I'm in favor of just droping OFAB all together. Why does a non-big guy have a negative trait (even mummies get away with not having one)? The agility access on the vampire has also been a heated debate too, and i don't see why they need it at all. The only thing Agility access gives a vampire is auto-blodge and Jump-up on doubles. If this team would preform to well then I would change team to: spirit 60K, Wraith 100K, Banshee 100K, and vamp 120K+OFAB. This would make them rely more on crap lineman and make the vampires unrealiable.
