Human Teams.

Anyone with a Human team ever done well? I was thinking about this the other day, and I've only ever known one win a Cup. How have Humans fared with LRB in your experiences? Seems to me they do not have a sufficient variety between ST and AG to be very successful.

Humans defeated Dark Elves last season to win our cup 3-1.
They are a well balanced team, and really shine with a good coach behind them.

both teams in the final of the blood bowl were humans, though griff does account a lot for that

Their biggest advantage is that they have no real weaknesses and they capable of accomplishing everything with little a luck. The best point IMHO is that you have the biggest variety in advancing a Human team: you can opt for bashing, passing or running (sort of) game. Usually they end up with a mix of all letting them exploit the weaknesses of other teams.

Even with some cracking profile increases my Human teams have never really got anywhere, apart from that Cup win. Must be me as a Coach! It's that AG 3 that seems to let them down consistently, yet makes them one of the most entertaining teams to watch and play. They are brilliant one half and awful the next.

Humans won 2 out of our 4 league championships. They have some of the best movement in the game and a good adaptability.

My biggest rival in my league was a human team. We played the final vs. each other several times.

Just started out with my first human team in 8 years.
Line up:
2 Blitzers
2 Catchers
1 Thrower
5 Linemen
1 Ogre
3 TRR
9 FF
I completely mashed a rookie Woodie team (1 WD, 10 line elves) thanks to the crowd killing one line elf and lots of KOs and a couple other casualties (including another dead line elf

- sorry Al).
Basic tactics against Woodies were to threaten the pass, but concentrate on running the ball. Once those catchers are a few squares in they have to be dealt with - giving me the time and space to move the ball.
I was quite happy with them, but it will be interesting to see how the league pans out.

I think human teams always perform well. You can adapt them to suit your style of play as they can pass or run, and with some access to strength skills and a big guy can sometimes hot. I think this is why they are consistant, you don't really need to change your tactics to suit them, they can do a little of everything so effectively they come to you.
just my thoughts, i always liked playing humans

Humans are good. I find them to suffer abit in the beginning when the elf teams superior AG and the Dwarfs blocking ability really gives them an edge against them. But our time comes, we often win more than Dwarfs due to superior movement and our players are so much cheaper than Elfs that we are able to keep playing after suffering a few setbacks (got a lineman and a catcher killed in my first game and was able to rebuild).

The sheer adaptibility of humans is what has always attracted me to them. I know a lot of experienced coaches call them a "rookie's team" because they can be fairly forgiving of mistakes, but I think they are much more than that.
I'd be interested to see a tournament where everyone fielded the exact same human team - it'd be the closest thing to establishing the best possible coach.
I used to play really well with them too, but after playing 1 season with Chaos then going back to them for the BB the urge to stand and hit things was too strong

That's not why I'd recommend them - its because they do everything - so you get a feel for the whole game rather than just a part.

MURDERER!!?!!!?!
Hmm anyway I've always liked Humans took them to the Blood Bowl and did pretty well (Luthor helped, but I left the pigeon headed wonder at home). Also play them in the ECBBL conference league to keep my hand while I learn to hate Woodie armour 7
The great thing about them is versatility, they are the jack of all trades of the BB world. So a coach who knows how to play elf bowl, dwarf bowl etc. can use them to play to the opponents weakness relatively easily without exposing your own weaknesses. Their main problem I find though is cage breaking not having the natural agility to dodge in, but not having the strength to bust it open. Hope in Nuffle is a human coaches best friend, and the ever present threat that they can shift gear and change the play with cheap and skilled positional players.

That's one reason for starting with an Ogre.
