Scoring with a Block...

Post by Smeborg »

Hi guys - I thought I'd share this with you, since it was the most satisfying TD I ever scored.

Early on in a league, Bull Centaur A (with ball) runs out of puff and ends a turn one square from the opponent's end zone (typical, that). The opposing coach (Orc) then ends his turn with 2 Blitzers (one with Guard) eyeballing Bull Centaur A.

After a few clearing manoeuvres, Bull Centaur B (with his AG3) dodges a couple of times, goes for it, and Blitzes the Orc Blitzer with Guard, pushing him into the end zone, in front of Bull Centaur A.

Bull Centaur A then Blocks the Orc Blitzer with Guard, pushes him into the crowd, killing him, and follows up the Block into the end zone to score. Opponent retires his side (a Black Orc also died in this match).

Unfortunately I didn't have a camera to hand to record the expression on my opponent's face for posterity.

Cheers

Heh, I was playing a playtest game with the early TBB Orges against my Norse using PBeM (I was playing both sides).

The Norse had taken a mullering, but were level at 1-1 in the last turn. Orges pulled back to make a chain across the EZ. Blitzer with ball run up to Orge and blocked, 2D against. Two pushbacks. Follow up blitz now 3D against with assists. 3 pushbacks. Orge goes into crowd, Blitzer has to follow up for winning touchdown, and the crowd have a field day and kill the Orge player outright :D

Shame I can never pull of plays like that against an opponent :(

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

This is the very reason they've invented camera phones

Now I can eternalise everything I experience :-P
And it's hard to notice if you're taking a photograph, so your unsuspecting victims won't realise they're being photographed so they'll act naturally. Kjeh kjeh 8)
