How the heck...

Post by NightDragon »

Do CD's rate so highly. Here is a highly technical number of reasons why I can't se it.
1. The majority of the team are some of the worst BB players with access to only one range of skills.
2. The majority of the rest are too fat.
3. It is pointless giving these blubber boys break tackle, so they are not much use apart from on the front line or guarding the thrower.
4. What thrower?!
5. They are the ugliest team around, them and the rat scum that is.

Worst? They have MA 6, ST 3 and AG 3. They are slightly below average but they are also cheap to replace so it pays to take risks with them.

Hmmn. What about Ogres? They are fatter.

If you can't see the advantages of the Chaos Dwarf Blocker/Longbeard then I can't help you. Ever try checkers?
DeputyDawg wrote: 4. What thrower?!
Why do you need a thrower?
DeputyDawg wrote: 5. They are the ugliest team around, them and the rat scum that is.
And they have arguably the best blitzers in the game!
I think you should try them out once. CD's are great!

CDs are a great team, but look like crap! I hope these will be one of the teams that new minis are produced for.

If I can ever get the figures I'll make a CD team using proper 2nd ed Chaos Dwarfs, and use Boar Centaurs as the Bulls.

I like the playing style of the team but not the fgures :puke:

The mini's aren't that bad. The CDs in particular have a lot of detail.

At least they have 6 different miniatures for the Chaos Dwarves and from memory 6 different Hobgoblin miniatures too.

At least it's not like eg the Human team where you end up with 4 Blitzers, 4 Catchers, 2 Throwers, and 6 linemen, yet only have 8-9 different miniatures.

There are 4 different CD minis and 4 different hobgobs and 1 Bull Centaur (Hthark) ... the rest is conversion work.

The CD minis have a very unique look (certainly a matter of taste, i DO like it) and are technically great minis with a lot of detail and very good proportions. (great compared to ugly minis like the amazons or the wood elf)

The team is fun to play, it's really different from other teams and since the addition of the Bull Centaurs truely competitive.

How can you not love such a wacky team. They have two of the best kinds of lineman (cheap AND imovable) and the arguably the best player in the game. The hobgoblins are very cheap and can make up for any position with just a few skills. The Chaos Dwarves are tied with Longbeards for the best lineman in the game :D . Finally the Bull Centaurs are Run-Catch-Blitzers and will be able to be used in all 3 of those positions with Block, Break Tackle, and either Catch or a lucky +1AG.

I also like the mini's quite a bit. Many people dismiss them as silly, but I find the consept of funny hats to be a great addition to a team. I would also like to add that there funny hats are better than any other teams funny hats including the Cone Heads (high elves), Horn Heads (norse), and the feather heads (Dark Elves). I wouldn't mind a more evil dwarf look to them, but the "We all wonderd into a beuty parler and curld or beards" looks has to stay :D .

A well painted CD team can be very nice indeed.

I think the CD's are a really great team, fast moving hard hitting blitzers and cheap options to keep 11 on the field. Lots of access to strenght skills. DeputyDawg, you may be missing something here, not every team needs a thrower ither.

The success of the CD teams shows that the team is more than the sum of its parts.
The hobgoblins are a great asset when combined with the CD blockers - the fact that the team has a lot of MA6 (and sufficiently lot of AG3) allows the blockers to stand out and do their thing. And the bull centaurs are as good as they look like. Throw in a big guy and the team is complete.

Funny you should say that, because chaos dwarves usually only field 2 or 3 AG3 players, while dwarf teams field 4.

Well the two CD coaches in ECBBL normally field at least 4 Hobgoblins.

I think the reason CDs are so good is because they've got the 2nd best blitzer in the game (BCs only beaten by War Dancers).
