BB Mag 7

Post by McDeth »

Arrived this morning.

Highlights this time around.

Experimental rules for Dwarf Runesmiths and Halfling masterchefs. Definitely one overdue. Runesmiths giving one game stat increase randomly determined, and Halfling master chef becomeing the Head Coach for Free.

Chaos Dwarf playbook: Excellent write up. Probably like it because thats how i try to play my Chaos Dwarf's , so i couldn't find fault.

Nothing else of great shakes, apart from the new trophy mini's which look pretty cool, and a Dune Bowl variation which allows Khemri to win, even more regularly than curently.

McDeth any more insight into the Halfling Master Chef.

I was told he was going to work like this:

Free as head coach
At the beginning of each half, you roll a D6, on a 2+ you steal one re-roll.
For each 20k extra you spend before rolling, you get to roll one extra D6 per a half and steal an extra reroll on a 2+.

Did they do this, or did they just take the rules from the LRB and make it a Free Head Coach.

I HOPE they did the 1st ... I finished programming it into the PBeM tool last night. ..... :-?

Aw, maaan, what a drag... I have paid for a subscription to the BBmag, but GW keeps on botching it... had to phone them three times over until they finally sent no.6 Now I see that no. 7 is out, and guess what didn't arrive here... I really hate it, they're never late when it comes to collecting cash, but I can see my beard grow waiting for deliveries.
Should probably bill them for all the annoyed phone-calls I have to do...

From the mag

The master Chef is free for halfling teams ( In fact he's the headcoach ). The master Chef allows the team to roll a D6 before each half. On a roll of 2 or more the team may take an extra re-roll for the half as normal ( and the opposing team loses one for the half )

for every 20,000gp the Halfling Coach spends before the match, the coach may roll an extra D6 before the half. You must spend all money before you roll any dice.

Looks like you were told right

Hurray for inside information ... thank you so very much for the confirmation, McDeth.

So the MBBL testing, the Halflings will have on-pitch Take Root (a version even Pariah cannot think is overpowered as we made it worse) and this Master Chef.

The Goblin team will receive a free random weapon at the beginning of each game on a 2+ and can field up to 4 at once.

Ogres will be removed from the access list for both stunty teams. Be interesting to see what this does. I think the Stunties will still lose, but they will be a heck of a lot more fun to play.

Are the Runesmith rules the same as the ones listed on page 20 of BBMag3?

I think its like this:

Roll D6 after you freeboot the Runesmith (50k)

1- No effect
2- Give one player +1 AV (Rune of Protection)
3- Give one player +1 MA (Rune of Speed)
4- Give one player +1 AG (Rune of Dexerity)
5- Give one player +1 ST (Rune of Might)
6- Give one player the stat increase of your choice

All stat increases are removed at the end of the game.

Those actually with the Mag can correct me but this was my understanding of what the Runesmith would do from getting the MBBL ready for Season 3. I probably have the order of the stats and Rune names wrong, but you get the picture.

Apart from The Chaos Dwarf article which i thought was good, the rest of Mag i found pretty boring, same with number 6.

Could we help them out and write some interesting new articles ?

How about racial wizards for every race ? or different colour type wizards (Jade, grey etc) and teams select one when they buy him ?

Or Maybe invent some new star players to publish ? maybe a competition on TBB for it

Don't get me wrong i think BB mag is great and Andy is doing a great job, but it seems lacking in material.

I have to agree with you. I am kinda disappointed with BB mag, I got a sub mainly because of the new experimental teams, but the published versions in BBmag tend to be crap and are revised in the 2003 Annual (from what I've read on the board, as I haven't got the Annual). Might as well have waited on getting the sub and just buy the Annual.

IF I understand correctly, the article I wrote on this for Fanatic will be in BB Mag #8 .... but who knows.

Am I correct in presuming the article deals with using on pitch spellcasters?
