I believe that If your turn is not complete in two minutes, It counts as an immediate turn over and the other teams turn beings. Though actions in process (Eg. Ball in mid air, players armour roll etc) should still be finished, but not movement, or actions not yet preformed.

2 Minutes only per turn? It would speed up the game alot but i dont know if i like that, i prefer the 4min per turn rule. This at least gives you a chance to think for a minute about what your going to do.

er...shaniepoo i'm pretty sure it just a games day rule to speed up the game at games day, not an offical rule

I am very sure it is not official.
Two minutes is pushing it I guess. Some turns will be possible, other more complicated ones will definetely being rushed. With 11 players on the pitch this means roughly 11 secs per player.
It is similiar to chess, with it's 5 min blitz variant. You are bound to make more mistakes and less intelligent plays. I think 4 min is decent.

If I remember correctly this is how the game worked.
You have 2 minutes total to score a TD. They have a song that is 2 minutes long on a tape.
When your turn starts they start the song. When your turn ends they stop the song.
You keep taking turns until you score or the song ends.
The games play is simplified as well. I don't know exactly what they did, but I know there were no armor/injury rolls. Just blocks.
I never actually played it. Just watched it for a few minutes between sessions a couple of years ago.
Hope that helps.

There was an article in House Rules about Games day Canada. They said the demo games were 4 turns or 1 td whichever came first. They didn't mention 2 min turns.

Oh...I have never been to games day, I was just assuming the rules for 2 min games were similar to the 4 minute turns.

The four minute turn rule is actually very good. It means you can generally get a game finished in a certain amount of time, even with "slow" players who get distracted by EVERYTHING, and take ages to do each turn.

Yeah, I can't stand a player who takes forever to finish their turn, chop chop says I.
