Um...I don't get it.
Give us a couple of examples of what you're trying to do here Toby.

I think he's pointing out that the team lists on pg. 50ish of the LRB doesn't tell you all the information you need to create and advance a team. If there is a good, compact way to give all the information on list A, I'd like to see it.

I'm with Thradin on this one... I'm having trouble visualing what you are talking about here... can you give us an example? Pick a team, and give it to us in both options, so we can see what you mean.

Team List A
Code: Select all
Although Human teams do not have the individual strengths or outstanding abilities available to other races, they do not suffer from any outstanding weakness either. This makes Human teams extremely flexible, equally at home running the ball, passing it, or ignoring it and pounding the opposition into the turf instead!
Human Teams field up to 12 Linemen, 4 Catchers, 4 Knights, 2 Throwers and 1 Blocker.

I'm not sure that bundling in your own agenda about pre-made stars is a good idea here, it has no bearing on the poll...

OK this should visualize it.
PLEASE ignore the 2 Players that have the Special "Star", and ignore the "Rookie" Blocker.
As Balrog said, they belong to a Starplayer System that can possibly be integrated. I will try to give you detail on this later.
Just note, the only thing REQUIRED for the _current_ Starplayers to integrate them would be giving them Racial Characteristics, and the Special "Star". You do NOT have to use the Starplayer System I have in mind!!! Griff Oberwald, Mighty Zug and Morg'n'Thorg could be integrated without any change to the freebboting System.
PLEASE Ignore Stars for now.
The clue is, by de-bundeling Player Data and Position limit you can list multiple Players for the same Position!

I updated the thing.
I hope the Stars are not to confusing.
However, listing them gives me the oportunity to explain the COOL thing behind it...
U see the Human Blocker ?
Thats a "House Rule Rookie" he's "Mighty Zug" -1ST -Magic Helmet -Block.
See the Veteran Human Blocker ?
Thats "Mighty Zug" -Magic Helmet. I "balanced" Mighty Zug.
So, look at the Ogre Blocker.
Thats a Ogre Big Guy.
Now, all of them use the BLOCKER slot. You can only have 1.
The Rookie is weak but can develop.
The Star is powerfull but peaked or limited (i.e starts with 16 SPP)
The Big Guy is powerful and can develop, but handicaped.
Your choice, as a coach. The Star is the short term solution, the Rookie the long term, and the Big Guy can become superior to both but hes a little Stupid u know.
Please someone tell me you like the idea

Okay, while I like the addition of Wizard and Apothocary to the list, as well as the skills available for advancement and any team Big Guys, I like the format of list B better. It just seems easier to read.

believe me, this is because of the forum.
I'm having such a hard time. I have a nice print of a excel list, and its layout is much easier to read...
but of coures its more to read, because theres more information.

ignoring the superstar stuff etc yer i quite like it, but though ignoring the superstar thing you can get rid of the title column and i like the way cost is next to the stats on b

Okay, well, then, the only thing I would suggest chaning on yours is getting rid of the race column (it's kind of redundit, as the name of the race will be a Title at the top), and put the numbers back there. Nothing wrong with having them at the top like you suggest, I just prefer them next to the position. Makes it easier when making up a new team.

Title = Star Player Level = Number of Star Player Rolls.
Note, this list is used complementary to the Team Roster.
Title, is not necessary, but useful. It enables you to have players of the same Position but different Star Player Level on the Team List. On the Team Roster it indicates the number of Star Player Rolls the player already had.
Puting Cost after the Skills is to streamline with the layout of the team rosters.
(who wants to have the excel file ? ^^)

The RACE is necessary to defferenciate an OGRE BLOCKER from a HUMAN Blocker. If I put the numbers first, you could have (0-1) OGRE BLOCKER + (0-1) Human Blocker on other Team Lists this would give the Chaos Dwarfes 6 Trolls... you are Allowed to have ONE Blocker; either Human or Ogre
RACE defines a SET of characteristics. They NEVER cange !
So instead of "BIG GUY, BONE HEAD, THICK SKULL" you write "OGRE" on your team Roster.
