Anyone know of a way to play BB all the time?

Post by hades2003 »

I am going to sue Games Workshop over the fact that they have made Blood Bowl one of the most addictive games ever!

Ok, maybe not, but you've got to agree that it does suck when you really want a game, but no one will play you.

There must be a way to play Blood Bowl as often as you want, and with other people who love the game just as much, if not more.

Any ideas? I have come up with the following:

1: Break into GW HQ with a shotgun and make them all play me in Blood Bowl. {Granted, playing with one hand will be awkeward, but what the hell!}

2: Get a job in a Games Wrokshop store. {Hmmmm. Now there's a thought ....}

3: Start a "Play Blood Bowl in the Bedroom to Avoid Unwanted Pregnany" campaign, thus being able to play Blood Bowl with your partner and keep the population limit down at the same time.

I know, I know. I need to be locked up, but some of my points are valid enough. :D

Oh well, that's enough none-sense from me for now.

By the way, does anyone else think that Games Workshop should bring back Blood Bowl as a game that they can sell from their stores, because the Mail Order prices are a bit £Katching$ Mind you, the same could be said for ALL Games Wrokshop products, but that's a different story.

Join the FUMBBL online Java league and play against people all the time like I do.

Get info here.

Alternately, there's the PBeM leagues, but they're more structured and slower-paced. If you want to be able to play all the time, FUMBBL is more what you're looking for.

Anything I say is totally opinion and (knowing my luck) probably completely wrong. Keep this in mind.

I've downloaded all of the stuff that I need, but I don't know where to go from here.

When I go to Start Match, just to check things out, half of the stuff doesn't show on my screen. It tries to show me the pics and stats of the players, but it can't.

Any ideas?

I know there is a section devoted to these questions, but seeing as I had such a good reply, I'd might as well ask here!

Cheers

i think the problem he's talking about is caused by your screen being the wrong resolution. you have to go to your monitor properties and change the resolution for it all to show up right.

it only works on 1024x768.

And this thread proves that fumbbl is making a service to the mentally unstable population, by giving them a chance to express their deepest desires by the finest form of art - blood bowl. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Personally, I'm keeping well clear of the damn thing. I guess I'd starve to death in front of my computer if I started playing there.

Me too :D
Therefore I am a "BB IRLTM only" adept...

Seeing the opponent roll a 1 on his rerolled GFI to score isn't the same as clicking a 1

BTW BB IRL isn't a religion, it means Blood Bowl in real life...

Every night I hear voices.... voices that are calling me to play Javabowl! The voices already made me install it, but luckily my internet access at home is down for some reason so I have been able to avoid playing so far.

I can't play on FUMBBL cos of the firewall at work blocking me, so I came up with an inventive solution

I made my own league using the team templates provided as a basis. The first season had 7 teams, each team playing the others twice, as well as one knockout cup - 47 games in a season.

After the first season I liked it so much I took the top 5 teams and made a premier division, then used the bottom 2 and 3 new ones to make a 1st division - two divisons of 5 teams. The cup now has 8 of the 10 teams in, randomly determined, giving all teams a shot at glory. Coincidentally, 47 games per season as well.

So far, I am now 74.5% of the way through the 3rd season!! I play both teams, then after each match I determine skill progression (using the random number functions in excel) and buy new players etc. I've played 129 games of blood bowl against myself, inc. team development. And I've played them in the last 3 or 4 weeks, just at work.

Each game lasts about 45 mins, which means I'm playing around 6.5 games a day, and 4.8 hours a day... all at work.

I'm a model employee :)

Currently, the dwarfs are top of the premier league, 4 pts ahead of the newly promoted high elves. The dwarfs won the double (league and cup) last season, but the high elves have already won the cup this year.... I cant see them winning the league though.

Sadly, one of the original teams, the ogres, has been relegated from the league after losing all 8 matches. They'll be replaced by a new team from the unused ones next season (sometime next week I expect :-) )

My life as I know it is now in total and utter turmoil.

Long live the King of FUMBBL!

Remember moderation is the key. I have seen coaches on fumbbl play games back to back to back for a week, join as many groups as they can, commit to leagues, and then never show up again because of burn out.

Fumbbl is great, but after playing 30 games of bloodbowl in 2 days, and having the dice seemingly screw you in a few games you may get (dare I say it) too much bloodbowl.

Remember Moderation. I put myself on a 2 game per day max, but ussually stay at 1.
