I have started a league with 4 conferences 4 teams in each conference. Each team plays a game against each other team in the conference. Then the top teams in the league play for a trophy, the 4 next best teams play for a trophy and so on until all teams play for a trophy. So the season is about 5 games long a lot easier to keep coaches around. Now I am wanting to make rewards for winning the trophy besides just the trophy. Like money, new player, increase in FF, a reroll something that helps the team.
My trophies are as follows number 1 being the best: #1 the Golden Skull, #2 the Crown of Swords, #3 the Dragon Scepter, and #4 the Crystal Sword. Also what kind of rewards should the runners-up get.

Choose one of the major trophies in the back of the book (maybe not The Blood Bowl) and use that as the top trophy.
Then halve the money for the 2nd trophy and again for the 3rd trophy.

We stopped rewarding teams for winning, financially at least. They geat a trophy re-roll and a trophy, and 10 "all time" points.
Usually rewarding teams for winning just makes them better - and more likely to win. Since competition is quite high in our league anyway we didn't feel the need to reward a team in a financial way....

Id say trophy Reroll and some (not too much) money.

I had thought of 60000 & MVP for each player on top 2 teams for winning #1, a increase in FF & 3 MVPS per team for winning #2, A reroll & increase in FF for winning #3. and a free basic lineman or apoth for winning #4, help the loweer rank teams maybe become more competitive.

We had the "Orca-Cola Cup". The winning team won some cash, and the winning coach won a 2 litre bottle of coke with a Orca Cola label stuck over the coca-cola one! We also chose a random "Orca Cola Player of the Year". This player got a bonus MVP and also earned the team an extra $10k every time he played until the next Cup was won and someone else got the award.
However, the award only took effect if the owning coach went to the trouble of painting the mini with a range of orca cola sponsored merchandise on them!! Fair enough they may only last for 1 season but they looked good!
EDIT: The Player of the Year award was randomised between EVERY team that took part in the competition, not just finalists.

We used the rewards straight out of the book. It does make the winning team better, but in each sucessive season, those teams have been marked for death, and have suffered some serious setbacks. We've never had a team win a second trophy, and most teams drop 40-60 points of TR the tournament after they win a major trophy.
We have started minor league trophies, with an elimination format, smaller prizes and no team reroll. Our Albion Trophy gets 80,000 GP to the winner. The goblin leeg prize isn't money, but a horde of rabid goblin fans who follow the team. The team gets to roll D6-1 and add it to their fan factor at the beginning of each game. If they roll a "1," the goblins have rioted and the team's FF is halved for the game.

In our league the winner gets access to Mutations for his team the next season, just like if it was a Skaven team. It the team already has access to Mutations, then the team gets to pick Mutations. Normally we determine the Mutation randomly.
