Well, I themed my Chaos team around a good-guys human team (bright crusaders copy), called The United Saviours of Mankind, gone evil (now Manflayers United)

All my original players thus have names such as:

Bjorn Treefriend
Neil Noharm
Kurt "The Chaste"
Dennis Dogood
Rodric "The Righteous"
"Lawfull" Lenny
Judas "The Just"
Patrick "The Pacifist"
Gilderoy Goldenheart

for Beastmen, and

Sir Percival of the Peacefull Heart
Sir Gawain, Protector of the Weak
The Galant Sir Galahad "The Pure"
Sir Lancelot of the Lovely Lake

for Warriors...

Don't think this helps much, huh...

Instead you might go through Warhammer Fantasy stuff and pick up names from (Special) Characters and Characters in short stories and use them (in part), but somebody else is bound to have better advice than me...

What about some German bogus names for your CWs? They should sound to you even more bizzare than they do to me :D

Zacharias Zinkapfel (=zincapple)
Greedo Pommesfett (=frenchfriesfat)
Dieter Kummerhammer (=sorrowhammer)

Chaos Team Names

Post by Nopiltzin »

I once had a Chaos Team where I rolled dice for names.
I.e. d6 for A,E,I,O,U and Y and d20 for the rest.
Simply decide which die to roll next and tweak the names a bit!

Here's what I got for my Chaos Warriors:

Hup-Quop vax Horror
Suck-Bas nep Unukov
Lumpi-Bos col Bofudas
Rax-Nox nil Tekmof
Kaz-Gac fex Cretakof

Personally I dislike names that make fun of your own team so I prefer "serious" names

That's the idea!

For your minotaur:

John "the amazed" Cow (wink, wink, wordplay)

John "double-pow" Cow

I prefer to give unusual players the most usual forenames I can imagine (most of them are smalltown-boys anyway)

Spielverderber! :D

As you like, but I would have problems cheering when I score to say: "Yes another touchdown by..., by.... Xotl, no, Xorotl, no..., wait a second, I've to look up the name."

You have to know the names of your players of course! But imagine an opponent who wants to write down the name of your player ( we keep game protocols ) and has to ask three times how to spell it

For all non german readers:
Spielverderber = grinch / spoil sport / killjoy 8)

The old (REALLY old) Realm of Chaos books had a name generator. Good luck finding copies though...dunno if they ever turn up on Ebay. I wouldn't part with mine because they're among the best stuff GW ever released.

Yes. Yes they do. Don't ask me wher... but as commissioner for my league I wish they hadn't.... :D

The Green Bay Picklers 3rd Eleven (chaos team) have just won the Albion Cup. His names are all from that chart. And I have to record scorers... oh dear...

An example

KKh'thy'ithylis

Use your power as commissioner and expell those unpronounceable players...

Do you work for George Lucas, apart from the 'Horror' bit they sound like the names of Star Wars aliens.

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".
