Resurrecting Ghouls

Post by Darkson »

I can understand it from a games mechnic side, but just wondered if there is a fluff reason why a necromancer can't use the raise the dead spell on a dead ghoul from his own team?

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

I think becuase a ghoul isn't a dead monster, it only coorperates with the undead but isn't a dead creature....

You miss the point. He wants to use raise the dead to gain a zombie if his ghoul dies. I'd allow it.

Question then becomes "what happens if two undead teams meet and a ghoul dies...who gets the new zombie?"

I´d say roll a dice to represent the necromancers trying to complete the spell first.

In the current rules, you can only resurrect someone if they were killed and on the opposing team. You may not ressurect your own dead Ghouls into Zombies

Cervidal is correct, though a reference would have been nice  .

Talking about the Raise Dead spell on pg 28 of the LRB
This spell may only be cast if a player from
the opposing team is killed during the match. It allows
the Necromancer to raise the player from the dead, and
add him to the Undead team as a new Zombie player!
Opposing team. Sorry, you can't raise your own Ghoul.

has anybody kept track of their best streak of games in which they were able to use the Raise Dead spell? Mine was 14, highlighted somewhere in the middle by my new zombie, Stiff Slobberwald. You can guess his former name I'm sure. :)

I know. If you read my original post again you'll see I was asking from a fluff point of view.

I can't think of an especially good reason why they shouldn't be allowed to. It seems perfectly reasonable.

Thadrin said he's allow it and Cervidal was answering too. As far as fluff goes, I don't see any reason not to. I'll ask the next Necromancer I meet though, just to be sure.

14? :o My best streak is 6. What about regeneration? How many times have you saved your player with regeneration? My wight is playing his 4th ehm... life :D He simply refuses to die ;)
