Dwarf Machine

Post by Toby »

Dwarf Team
0-1 Machine 160K 4|7|1|10; Mighty Blow, Multiple Block, Stand Firm, Deathroller

Skill & Trait Access: NONE

Rule Changes:
"Deathroller" moved from "Secret Weapons" to "Racial Characteristics"
"Penalty Roll" removed from Deathroller "Skill Description"
"Dwarf" removed from Ogre Allied Teams List.

Skills & Trait Access: NONE
The Machine cannot improve and gain skills or traits. However, it still collects Starplayer Points and suffers from ageing as well!

Improving the Machine:
Could be discussed at a later point. Maybe by buying upgrades to it, like the "Block Skill" for 50K.

sounds bad, mainly because I really like the current proposed secret weapon rules a lot more.

I like the Secret weapon rules as well, but i dont like the Deathroller beeing considered a Secret Weapon.

To me, the Deathroller is the Dwarf team making up for their lack of size (Big Guys) with technology which is part for dwarfen Background in all Roleplaying related material. Dwarves are engineers, so the construct their own "Big Guy".

The other Secret Weapons are really Items to carry on the pitch, but the Deathroller does not fit into that concept for me.

Keep the Deathroller a secret weapon, make the dwarf big guy an "ogre" that is just a pneumatic-man. Problem solved.

The people who see it as a problem only see it that way because of the fluff. It's silly to change the rules to fit teh fluff. Just change the fluff to fit the rules! (a big example is the fluff about open league play!)

If you must give them anything give them a big guy dragon slayer or giant slayer or something.

I was going to vote 'Yes' to add a machine, but having read that you just suggest changing the DeathRoller a changed my vote to 'No'. It would be cool to add another machine that the Dwarves could use to replace Ogre, but I'd rather see the DeathRoller kept as it is

I would prefer a seperate new machine, I like the Deathroller as a secret weapon and the SW rules are pretty good.

Dragon Slayer could also be cool. What kind of models are there for Dragon Slayers? Guess I better go look.

Dragon Slayer models usually have so much facial hair that they couldn't move lest they trip over their beards. And I bet they have problems going in and out of dwarven doors thanks to their enormous hairdo's.

Their fashion habits seem so suited for combat that I presume their real title should be Dragon Slayees

You could give them a skill like unsure feet! Make a die roll every time you move, on a one auch and splat! :smoking:

How about a gnome engineer team, with a minimum of 11 assistant coaches (each for every gadget on the field) and then invent a machine for each gnome. Of course with a lot of handicaps, for most things wont work proparly of course! You could invent a ball slinger or a robot with very long legs to step over your opponents or a robot with a boxing punch and all with levers and pullys of course! Am I getting carried away? (Would make nice paining models though)
