Check out the MBBL on Galak's site, where all 3 of the possible Ogre rosters are being playtested.

IIRC you could still playtest an Orge #3 team in MBBL. Look at this thread.

I'd prefer that they stick to simple elegant rules in their attempt to balance out the ogres thus I seriously dislike option #1. I have another suggestion on ways to downpower the ogres that is simple and thematic.
Ogres aren't supposed to be too bright. So, in keeping with the boneheaded nature of Ogres, you could make their RRs less reliable. I see two approaches.
1) If an ogre wants to use a RR, he's got to make a bonehead roll to see if he remembers what the coaches taught him. If he fails he doesn't get the RR.
2) Treat RRs like pro rolls. Much harsher then #1.

here's an idea, keep the BIG GUY trait on the BIG GUYS! that way, the gobbos can still use the rrs (maybe lessen their price a bit) and keeps the ogres a bit more in balance, at least w/ the other team's ogres.

From what was discussed when the TBB made up their version, JJ's basically said that's not going to happen

Guys .... this is a bang head against wall topic at this point.
By that I mean suggested changes have as much chance of occurring as knocking down a brick wall with your head.
Jervis worked with the BBRC to create and endorse the 3 Ogre rosters for testing.
Said testing has already begun in several leagues, and the bottom line is that the rosters are working like the ST 5 Halfling team that JJ wanted.
So I've been told flat out ... one of those 3 rosters is going to become the Ogre team ... (ie this really has ceased to become a discussion issue of what the Ogre team should look like ... its going to be one of the 3).
So now what is needed is for folks to play those rosters and send feedback directly to Jervis and Andy about what which of the 3 rosters they played and which one they would like to see become the Ogre team.
The only one of the 3 so far that been suggested might be better than a Halfling team was roster #1 by Skummy's league which was great information since in my league the roster #1 isn't doing so hot.
At this point what is really needed is for folks to test the 3 rosters and give us feedback on which one works the best and is most like the ST 5 Halfling team that Jervis has requested the Ogre team be. That discussion has incredible merit and we really need as much of that as possible.

I think this one is a no-brainer, if they want a ST5 version of the halflings. I'd definitely got for roster #2. I've played a fair number of games against the a version of roster #3 on FUMBBL but without the handicaps and $ penalty. My impressions are they suck but have great potential at high TR, I think the FUMBBL stats back this up.
As for roster #1, that's got to be one of the least elegant games mechanic I've ever seen for weakening something that is too potent. And that's why I suggested my much simpler bonehead/pro variant for RRs.
Roster #3 resembles halflings because they scuk, but they've got the potential to become a very good team which halflings don't. That is if they suffer through major growing pains and get a decent roll or two on an ogre. Otherwise, they play like a souped-up goblin team as most coaches start with a majority of goblin players (6 of 11). So, they don't add much exciting and different.
On the other hand #2, looks equally ineffectual but it's got character. A team of really stupid players, no matter what skill advances won't be that effective and adds that hafling-ish element with their unreliability. The ogre throwers gives the team some character and a few effective players. As a bonus, it doesn't require and crude game mechanic to balance them out. And most importantly, with cheaper ogres and less goblins they are definitely an Ogre team, not goblins with access to more ogres.
So, where do I send my comments?

On the "Contact Us" page there's a form you can fill in which will send the message to someone connected to BB (Andy Hall I believe).
Or I think their email address is also on the "Contact Us" page.
