Conversion tips needed!

Post by woofie »

Well...I finally made it here!

To give you a minor background, I'm a Bloodbowl noob :P

I'm a veteran gamer (and a GW basher) to other GW games like 40K and frequents such forums like cough cough Portent cough.

Enough with introductions...as I've written on the subject...My place doesn't support Bloodbowl stuff anymore. The last stocks that I coud get a glimpse of are boxes of Undead, Dark Elves, High Elves, and Orcland Raiders. That's it...zip! No other stuff or blisters (wishing i could get those BB trophies!). And since I live on one of the farthest regions on God's green earth, all I could get hold on are WH40K and fantasy minatures.

What our group needs are ogres, chaos teams, cheerleaders (?).
We already transformed a regiment of Skaven Fantasy Night Runners to a Skaven BB team (yeah, with square bases), Fantasy Empire Flagellants as Apoths etc. Could anyone of you great "converters" help me?

I need ogres specially.

if all yur store has is stockpiled 40k minis, here's the best thing. use dark eldar as dark elfs! EASY conversions, there. put them in some fancy bb stances, cut off all non-blade weapons and you're pretty mutch good to go with a great looking team. make sure the paintjob looks more WFB, though. try and get some leathers in there and mud and stuff like that. another option, though nto my personal favorite are the kroot. could make an interesting beastman team, if you're REALLY good at converting. wouldnt recomend that, though, just wait until the new beastmen sprues come out

Plastic 40k Orks make great BB orcs.
Metal Fantasy Black Orcs fills out the team.

Basicly any fantasy regiment set and a bit of green stuff.

You mean GW mail order? :o

Bad experience...don't ask :pissed:

I tried it many times before, never pleased with them even a bit.

I live in the Philippines, part of Asia Pacific. So we get our stocks mostly from Australia. If I want Bloodbowl stuff, it's either US or UK mail order for me via UPS i guess. I find it kinda' risky since I've already have bad experiences in my region.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions guys!

Well, the new Beatman plastics should be out shortly. Those, combined witha sprue of Chaos Warriros can easily make a Chaos team. I'm not sure what the Phillipins release schedule is, though.

Yes, loads!!

If you mean a BB one, then yes, there's the new multipart one, and iirc some of the old ones are available from MO. If not, look at eBay if you can go that way.

I agree, thats quite far out... and even more far out, if you consider the situation of this area. I think, mailordering is like a lottery.
The first longdistance trip, i ever did, went to the Philippines... and i have to say, Manila is even more dirty than Mexico City, as i found out later... and not very safe. :o But a vist of this great small island of Boracay, north of Panay, excused this city. Some picts of this trip at my website, too... "Reisen", "Philippinen"
