Great minis and some very interesting figs. Looks like the designers had a lot of fun and built a lot of weird stuff into the minis. Not really Warhammer-like, but still amusing ... the female Ogre with the false beard (reference to "Life of Brain"?) for example, or the Gnoblar Trapper sitting in his gigantic trap ...

I think i'll get the butcher as a team apothecary and the Gnoblar trapper with the fur coat as a team manager or assistant coach ;)

I just ordered the Gnoblar box yesterday with my DungeonBowl Tickets... so these 24 plastic minis should arrive begin of the next week... so i hope.
About the ogres i will check in my local store first. How are the pose possibilities of these ogres, Norse ? Not to static ? I thought the legs are not to easy to convert Right now i´m greenstuffing my BB ogres...

the poses will probably be slightly static for some people's tastes, but I have no problem with static looking S5 MA5 Boneheaded guys... the faces are awesome.. they all look both really mean, but also brain-dead.. perfect combo... all told I'm really pleased...

the Gnoblars are less interesting to be honest because they are a little smaller than I expected... more like Snotling scale even... the poses are all one-piece, so weapon snips are the only option...

Ogres = some of the best stuff GW have ever done... 8)

Gnoblars = could have been better, but should be OK... some conversion opportunities for back-room staff...

:o
Not good ! IMO at last ! I expected the same size like the plastice gobbos !!! And just one piece poses... no different arms, legs and bodies ? Damm ! And i already ordered the box ! So, my only hope, there will be some nice ugly faces !

i thought so, too ! But mixing the two different ogre types should be not so good, or ? And greenstuffing whole new legparts... hm, i´m not good enough for this ... until now! At last for 6 to 7 Ogres... quite a work ! But i´m waiting for the butcher. I was told , he will released february 2005.
the faces are awesome
Yep, thats a point i like, too ! At last what i saw at the picts !

Thx for the info, Norse !

BTW... for testing i played two games Orc versus Ogre TR100 against myself with the fumbll software... two wins for the Ogre with quite some cas ! Sometime i have to start this Fumbll gaming online, too...

in my opinion, I believe the background for the gnoblars matches that of the gremlins from the movie Gremlins. Evil, laugh at the hardship of others, jealously etc :)

I think I hit the nail on the head :P minus the whole eating after midnight, and water makes em multiply.

well, I bought the 50 pound regiment box and there are about 18 different heads in that box! I'm spoilt for choice... :D

but the gnolars are only one piece models with alternative heads.. they are a LOT smaller than I expected.. but in fairness the Ogres are also a better scale compared to the BB models, so smaller scale will go across the whole team..

They will not mix with the BB models at all...

Anyway, I hope to have at least one painted up in time for the DO.. I'll bring him along so you can see the scale etc..

update: spent much of last night pissing off Mrs Norse by ignoring her in favour of small lumps of grey plastic... I LOVE the Ogres... I'm trying to work out if I can leave early today to go home and paint..

Actually, I'm really pleased, it's been about 2 years since I last felt this way about a painting/modelling project and I can't wait to keep going... the thing with me for commissions is a lack of interest which quickly sets in.. but as these bad boys are for me.. that is no problem...

Watch out Del!

well, at least expect me to pick up some second places if nothing else..

Hey, if you are that anxious painting the Ogres, keep on going and paint my half of them as well!
That way we can clash them at Legendz asap!

Can't wait to see them!

... and i´m greenstuffing my BB ogres. Quite a lot to do with all the gapes between the single parts ... and i amputed a Ogre cheerleader. Bending these minis IS nearly impossible! Yes, tim , you are right !
Maybe i will change my mind when i get the new ogres in my hands. My local shop will maybe get a order today...
I just saw the GWUS BlackGobbo newsletter... about painting Ogres. :)
