Minis for chess,,need help!!!!

I am trying to make a chess board for my son for his birthday.
I am making the board out of ash and cherry inlay (I am a carpenter by trade). For the pieces I am using a variety of individually selected minis that I think best represent a classical look (medieval kind of look rather than say WH40K). Most of them are Reaper minis 25mm. I have picked out all the pieces except for the King and Queen. The problem I am having is finding suitable pieces for the King and Queens. I would like for them to resemble regualtion size chess pieces which would require at least 28 mm at the minimum but I would love to find a 30 or 35mm set of pieces. Any ideas on where to look????

The new Bretonnian sorceress on foot makes a fine queen, and the new Leon Leonceur's upper body and head make a great king. Only his lower body is mounted on a Hippogriff... :-?

I concur. If you want old school Medieval... Bretonninas are the way to go. Maybe some Empire figs if you're really hard up. :)

The old bretonnian king riding the hippogriff would be a pretty intense king. And the old Fay Enchantress on unicorn would make a nice queen. They're both mounted, so they'd stand out from the other pieces.

Reaper makes a Warlord line that has a slightly larger scale:

This is quite the most incredible set I have ever seen...

clearly meant to be a Chess set if you buy 2 boxes worth of models..

wow, you have to love Rackham, the imagination is incredible..

sorry, not really mediaeval in style, but worthy of a mention I thought..
