Just my opinion but blood figures now tend to have a comical cartoon charater look about them rather then a professional sportsman / maniac, in particlur the new human team, the goblins the pro elves look wierd and what the hell is griff doing in his new mini he looks like he has just tripped over something

But.... :

Pro Elves look like shit.... Their face is like they got their balls cut...
Hugg.... Even GW painter don't like them....Look how he painted it.

Necromancer.... Shit again... The werewolf is only cool on picture .... In real he got a fish head....Like a plate :o :o :o

The only exeption is for vampires paysants.... They are bloody cool... But strengh 4 vampires make me laufh.... Bioman Erzatz

Oh yeah....Someone take a look to Khemri's?.... GW told us that the next minis will be far from the Warrhammer backround? Why they do this team so?

PS : I like GW for many things... But they make some choice wich desapoint me....

Ok the heretic stuff has been a little spotty at times, but overall the GW modelling has gotten better. With the emergence of Rackhaw it HAD to get better.

I think that all the BB figures look great. perhaps beacuse here we don't have GW stores, and find figures from other companies is impossible...

I have to see more figures, but the BB range is good to me.

I've been pretty critical over the last year of the new mini's , but any excuse to drag up old comments ;-)

Nurgles Rotters: Nicely sculpted mini's, just a shame they are undersized. Which spoils the overall feel, so i have to give a thumbs down.

Khemri: Dont like these, Normally i like Phils stuff, but the whole thought of putting them together has completely put me off them, they are still on the workbench at the moment and i cant see me getting the inclination to put em together, so thumbs down.

Pro Elf: Pretty awful figs, facially crap, and the catchers pose is just naf. Thuimbs down

Ramtut: Best of the new Models, by far. Thumbs Up

Werewolf: Too damn big for a Strength 3 Catch, Frenzy. Just doesn't fir the mold for the Werewolf stats. Thumbs Down .

Vampires: Nicely sculpted, cant fault them, except for the ridiculously small scale, they look ridiculous on the pitch, when put against other BloodBowl teams

Ogres: Reserved judgement at the Mo. Ok But i think i'd have prefered static poses rather than the so called multi part.

Ogre Cheerleader: waste of the time and production costs that could have gone into making, designing, producing better, decent models

Undead Cheerleader: Nice , Another one i like

Vampire Cheerleader: Other side of the coin, what the hellis this monstrosity??

Minotaur: Really like this one, although it does seem a little big.

Varag/Griff: Not bought yet as i've heard that the scale of these models are ridiculously big. I'll buy em at BloodBowl, the scale may decide whether i get two or one.

Sum Up. I just wish that fanatic would get some consitency in their new models, people complain about the old stuff, IE third edition, but at least you could put one team up against another and they looked like they came from the same dimension.

Now try New Ogres vs New Vampires

As I am an old school who can't adapt to new things I prefer 2nd ed minis through the board, or use 80s citadel conversions.

The ones from post-2nd-ed I accept as ok/good looking are

Beastmen
Lizardmen Skinks & Sauri
Nurgle's Rotters (just too small, but still ok)
Vampires & Thralls
Flesh Golem is ok as well but only bc he has the same size & style as Frank N. Stein

the new Ogres and Mino look very good but too huge for me to use.

For the rest of the 3rd ed/ LRB ed minis I can't find a hole deep enough... :D
They are either abnormaly huge or sculpted in a "washy" way.

Well I think a lot depends what you are comparing them to.

Against most 3rd ed minis the new ones are a lot better. The vampire range is excellent, as are the Ogres and Ramtut.

Griff doesn't look so stupid and the other SPs look good too. Cheerleaders might be unnecessary - but I like that they are produced.

Against a lot of the 2nd ed minis the new stuff holds its own, but rarely surpasses them.

I think McDeth has pretty much summed up my opinions on most of the new stuff.

Don't like the look of Griff and Varag, but Jordell looks good and Hubris is nice apart from his pose.

They are some of the best figures I have seen, some of the best figures with one glaring flaw when will the scale issue be taken care of?

The new Ogres are GORGEOUS...but way too big to use. You can't fit three side by side. So much for the Ogre team...

Ramtut is fantastic.

I hated the Rotters.

2nd ed figures still rule the roost. I'll be using 2nd ed figs at the BB this year.

I think better in general, but to be honest as long as there are more out there you can make more of an original team.
