Need some suggestions for Paint schemes

Post by lawquoter »

My creativity is nil at the moment.

Team 1) Nurgles Rotters. I don't have a name for 'em yet. What does the fluff say about the color Nurgle prefers? The beastmen I hope to do up like wildabeasts of Africa, i.e. black. Rotters will be, rotting of course.

Team 2) 2nd Ed. Humans. They are all primed and ready to go, I just don't know what to do with them. I've tended to go with dark colors on all my blood bowl teams, so maybe something different is in order here. I'm tempted to make white part of the team, but I'm scared of white. Maybe an off-white like bleached bone, so I can use skull white for a drybrush. Still, don't think I want 'em completely white.

Ideas?

The nurgle traditional colours are green and brown, but don't feel constrained by that. Squiggoth came up with a cool colour scheme a while ago:

As for your human team, man, sky's the limit. Stay away from Blue. Thats been done to death with human teams (no offence guys) Actually that Jade/yellow?orange combo might look cool on a human team too.....

If you want to go with the white i have a suggestion.

Use elfgray instead of white for the basecoat.
It is very thin and looks like white when you paint it on.
This means that you can use ordinary white to highlight it.
Even with my lousy painting skills it worked out ok.

Cheers Poul

How about orange and dark blue, like my Amazon team-see msn link for Humans. I wouldn't do traditional for Nurgle. How about something wacky like pink and black? There are so many different combos of colour that I think work well. Stripes look good. Black and yellow, black and red, yellow and red, how about quarters or chequered helmets? Good luck, let us know.

I'm painting my nurgle team up black and light blue, I think it's still nurgly and will stand out from all the green/purple and green/brown teams.

As for humans, I'm painting mine up purple and blue. Mostly, though, when I am stuck for a colour scheme for my team, I head over to www.nfl.com and check out the teams there. Just beware that most of those teams are red, white and blue.

Brown isn't a bad idea for the Rotters. Not many teams use brown, mostly because I don't think it makes for a good team color. But it might work for a rotting, putrid team. Maybe call 'em the Bubonic Browns.

I'll have a look at the NFL teams, I'm just kind of stuck. I've managed to whip up 17 2nd ed. humans, one of my favorite in terms of miniatures, I'm just not sure where to go with them. I have a human team in black and gold. So those 2 are out. I like ND's suggestion of quarters or checkered helmets. I'm not sure about the colors. It might have to come from some theme. Of course, I don't have one for the humans yet either.
