How to know if a mini is a 1ed or a 2ed?

I have two undead minis (a zombie and a skeleton) which looks like 1ed minis. But 2ed minis are exactly the same ones.
I think this could be the molding date (1987 on my minis) but I don't which could be the date on 2ed minis...

The zombies and the skeletons for 1st and 2nd ed are the same mini's
If you got one, you got the other.

not sure as they shouldn't, and haven't been molded at the same time.
Perhaps they share the same mold, but as they hadn't been released during the same period, I don't know how to make the difference, if difference there is...

It's the same mould
1st ed. minis were created between 1985-1988, they were discontinued except the Dwarf, Skeleton and Zombie after that.
The 2nd ed. minis were sculpted 1988-1989 and were in production (along with the 1st ed Skelli, Zombie and Dwarf) until 2000 (After 1994 only via Mail Order, though).
So if you have a Zombie mini it could have been produced btw. 1985/88-1999. The only way to tell the "period" is if it's dark pewter (earlier) or shiny pewter (later).

Not sure for the second Ed sculpting period. I have a 2Ed orc blitzer which has been made in 1987...
