Post by Bonehead »

Hi all,
I´m just working on a bull centaur from WH. I couldn´t see those Khemri bits anymore so this is a good sidetrack.
Here I present some pics after the first steps of converting. It once was a standard bearer and I added a ball that came with Heresy´s Fantasy Football Boris.
I hope you can make out the detail of my work in those crappy scans. Yes, I put him on my scanner and that alone was a bit of a challenge.
Thank god (Nuffle?) I know a little bit about Photoshop, though..

I agree. I'd even say it was a far better fig than Hthark the Unstoppable. Never been a fan of that fig though. I think it's the stance. Yes mate it's great! Be proud of that one!

Very nice work. I've got the same standard bearer, plus an axeman, that I'll be using for my own two bulls when I get around to doing my Chaos Dwarves... but that probably won't be for at least a couple of months. :(

Excellent job! Makes me wish I hadn't sold off all my Bull Centaurs before I got back into Blood Bowl.

Very nice. Just do him (and your opponents) a favor and put him on a round base. 25mm works fine, if you don't like that, even 40mm round is better than the cavalery bases.

Yes, they fit onto a 25mm round base, you have to snip off one of the slotta tags and shorten the other a bit. All four feet will be on the base afterwards, tight but doesn't look too small.

I´m not sore about the base, yet. Maybe I go for the 25mm round one. I just used the cavalery base to jam him under the lid of my scanner somehow (poor English, but you know what I mean). I´ve seen pics with the round base already and it looks ok, but would there be enough space to put the ball on it? Well, I think I have plenty of time to think about that ´cause I tend to never finish a miniature once I started :-? .

Dark Age games do 30mm round slotta bases which might give you the extra room you need without putting him on a big-guy base.

I guess you'd have to be ordering other stuff at the same time to justify the postage though.

You can get them from Artemis Black's (who are good):

http://www.artemisblacks.co.uk/

Click on Dark Age - 10 30mm bases for £1.25 and international postage is at cost.
