Suggestions for Chirurgeon and the Babe

Post by GalakStarscraper »

Okay guys ... I'm looking for good miniatures to use to create the Chirurgeon and the Bloodweiser Babe from the Vault 1.6 rules.

I'm decent at conversion but I like a good stock figure if i can get one. I'd like to convert a DE cheerleader ... but with her hands lost in the pom-pom ... I'm not sure how well I could create a new hand and a mug.

For the Chirurgeon ... I absolutely want this figure to resemble an Igor from the Discworld series. So if you know your minis and have a clue who Igor is ... let me know if someone makes a good figure to use here.

A description of Young Igor from the Discworld series may help:
"Igor is just out of his teens but already has a network of scars and stitches on his face, and his Grandfathers hands. His eyes are on different levels and one ear is larger than the other. He has a deformed DA hair style which is greasy and black and brushed forward into an overhanging and extended quiff of a length that could take your eye out. He has two thumbs on his right hand. He has more than one heart and wears crepe sole shoes. He is a very good surgeon and can do really tiny stitches. To assist his work he has a large magnifying glass, which could swivel up out of the way on a metal bracket attached to his forehead."

Anyway ... any suggestions. I'll looking forward to having a lot of fun creating these two new coaching staff figures but would like a good base figure to work from.

GW and non-GW suggestions are both welcome.

Depending on how over the top you want to go, some of these might work for the "Babe". I'm not sure about the scale though, they may be a bit small.

This one in particular looks appropriate for a Norse team looking for some "inspiration"

Perhaps see if any of the barmaids from Reaper's "Townsfolk" pack:

or from Hasslefree:

might work with your DE cheerleader conversion idea?

I would think these would be good Igors:

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

I think there is a serving wench figure that would work pretty well.

This will work ... thanks exactly what I was looking for was in the Hasslefree miniatures. I can cut off her hands (probably both of them) and pin them to a High Elf Cheerleader for what I think I'm looking for.

Might work well with the hand positions of several of the cheerleaders in fact. Like I wanted to do one for the Undead teams where the Bloodweiser was the color of pooling blood and have the barrels and the pitcher be labeled BUD DARK ... to represent Bloodweiser special brewing for those no longer with the living. The Necro cheerleaders look like they will convert pretty easily for this.

All these other replies came in while I was editing mine to add the pics to my original post, so check it again -- the DE's raised left arm might be awkward as far as holding a glass goes but if so, you could consider the barmaid with the serving tray from the Reaper pack.

Thanks Lahatiel ... I'm going to get some of those Reaper figs as well. The Dwarf and Halfling Babes HAVE to use a version with the 6 mugs ... that would be more what would convince them to get back on the pitch ... the beer ... not the server ...

I'll probably pick up 3 to 4 of each of these from Hasslefree and Reaper for conversion work ... thanks guys.

As for Igor ... if a Dreg is the best I can do ... so be it.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a bloodweiser BABE does it? if not, and this may be tricky to acquire, there's the Bugman's exclusive Bugman figure (anyone have a link?). Jervis or Jake might be very very nice and get you one if you asked nicely...

Glad to help! One last thing to consider: the Reaper 3-pack sells for $10.99, but if you order directly from Reaper's online store, you can order each barmain separately as bitz, for $3.98 a piece. Might help save some coin, if even just a little.

Thanks guys ... now is there other NON-cheerleader GW women with the right dress type and STANDING that I could use for a GW tournament legal version of the Babe and convert using these wonderful Reaper and Hasslefree hands?

I hate for all the women figs to be from cheerleader stock .. just curious of other thoughts for figs as women are not common figs in GW.
