Ok, i need peoples help. Who has any good ways/tips/idea's on highlighting black?

I tend to go with a very dark grey, and then for creases just highlight the extreme edges. I then place a small dab of very watered down mix of this grey over any larger raised surfaces and then smear it with a finger until it looks right

in first it's more easy to paint the base in dark grey, highlight it and after use black ink in depth.
now you can use
-blue grey in place of dark grey for armor (in example)
-dark blue for closes or armor

now there are many advanced methods but not easy because you have to use much diluted paint, and it's not easy to explain it because you have to practice to understand.

You could also mix in a little bleached bone in your black, for a warmer highlight than the one achieved with grey or white ... and when you're satisfied with the amount of highlights, wash the area with a very thinned down black ink to dull the highlights a little. I really like the result!

I usually use a dark grey as well...and if you are lazy like me, you can easily find a suitable color of paint at any craft store (no mixing required!)

depends for what...

If its major part of kit you can make it more realistic BB kit with varnish effects. Pure black virtually no highlight and bung on a couple of gloss varnish layers - works becasue rest of fig more realist via matt varnish.

Method two which is what you wanted...
black mix 95% with fotress grey 5%. first layer on highlight edges, then progressivly to 75% 25% ish mix on just the rim of black. Over highlight a black is the worse thing you can do with a paint job.
