Ok just out of interest i thought i'd find out what you think of the various second edition miniatures, but instead of finding out which one you think are best i've gone for which ones do you think are worst. For me it's a toss up between Orcs & Dark Elves, but im gonna plump for the Dark Elves, for me they don't come across to my opinion of Dark Elves, the Blitzers and Catchers are awful, and even when painted don't seem any better. My opinion!!. I've stripped this team down more times then i can remember and i'm still not happy with them.

Inclined to agree, not that I necessarily dislike them, the Blitzers are just a little 'static' and probably the worse of the bunch. Quite like the throwers and catchers though.

for me the orc team was the best and worst of 2e.... the position players were all very cool, but i hated (with a capitol h) the linemen figures....

speaking of which, i need to get 4 more 2e blockers and 2 more 2e blitzers... i've got an extra valkyrie team or two i can offer as bait....

I agree with Dark Elves. Personally if i ever play dark elves again irt i will just paint some Dark Eldar Witches for the whole team.

Wow... never knew there were so many against the 2E Dark Elves... they're one of my favorites, actually. Dark Elves are my mainstay team, and I'm giving up my 3E DE's to stick with my 2E's. The blitzers are a little static, true, but overall I think the team looks great; it's even better when you weapon-snip some WFB Witch Elves and add them in. The painted team I posted a link for a while back was done on commision. Once I get around to repainting my own, I'll be very interested to see the opinions.

Myself, I didn't care for the humans (despite still using a whole team). Some of them were good, but too many of them just didn't do it for me.

Its not the team or the paint jobs we hate just the overall mini's

Darkies, Orcs or possibly dwarfs.
That being said, I think that quite a few 2nd ed. teams look better than the 3rd ed. teams.
Yes - the 2nd ed. darkies may be the worst of the bunch - but they are better than the 3rd ed. ones by miles.

As you can probably tell, I'm not a big fan of Gary "static pose" Morley.
(Or is that Gary "Big Hands, No Neck" Morley?)

I think the 3rd ed metal humans were his work?
The catchers and throwers there suck, and the linemen are no better than OK. Nice blitzers though. 2nd ed. humies bad too. 2nd ed. orcs hideous from what I can remember.

2nd ed Dwarfs were what got me into BBin the first place. I love those figs.

2nd ed. Dark Elf catchers were nice.

in my opinion nearly all the 3rd ed teams suck! The reason: Gary Morley did em... I hate most of his work (not just BB). He has no sense of anatomy, I'm just glad he never became a surgent.

He could learn a lot from Jes Goodwin, the best GW sculptor ever if u ask me.

Try comparing the 2nd ed elves with the 3rd ed wood elves and see what I meen.

Why even bother redoing the minis when your work is 10 times worse than the originals.

I have nothing personal against Gary, just hate seeing people fix something that ain't broken.

HEY! I like the Dark Elves... those dwarves with the overstuffed pillows for padding are the worst, in my opinion. One of these days I'll get a good pic of my elves, perhaps I'll sway some opinion. Hey Anthony! My darkies ain't that bad, are they?? Are theyyy???

The plastics from the box were the worst

Joking, has to be the Dark Elves, apart from the thrower they kinda lacked in poses.
