Q's: Turnover, Perfect Defence, Fumble, Touchback.

Post by neverdodge »

hello ppl,

already posted that one on BB central when this one was down but haven t got a reply yet so i permit myself to bring it here :

i m runnig a league here in france, and i m not very experimented so i have a few ruling questions :

1) when you throw the ball and you check for fumble do you apply the pass modifier (i mean do you fumble on a long bomb only on 1 or on 1,2 and 3)

2) team A is active team :
Player A from team A block the ball carrier, the ball scatter on player A and he fail to catch it, is that a turnover ?

3) running a perfect defense on the kick off table still mean you must got a legal formation (3 on the los) right ?

4) do you allow star player to use team reroll

5) if you kick off, and the ball land in an occupied square, then your opponent try to catch it and fail, and the ball bounce in your half or out of bound, is that a touchback ??

that's all folks (for today )

thx

Yes, on a 1-3.

Yes legal defense.

(a) in your half, no
(b) out of bounds yes a touchback.

A thread earlier asked a similiar question, and it was said that if the ball bounces into your half on the kickoff, for any reason, that it's a touchback. That would include a player failing to catch the ball. Not sure who uses what rules though, probably best to get it confirmed by the league commish you're playing in, or work it out with your opponent in a one-off match, since they're the final people that count. =)

1,2,3. A natural or modified 1 is a fumble.

No.

Yes

Its only players with the Big Guy skill who can't.

Yes

Hope that helps.

I'm the one who asked for the "bouncing on the kicking side after a failed catch attempt" and I was told by Acerak or Neo (don't remember, sorry !) that it was indeed a touchback. I thought it was a valuable source at the time...
