What to do?!

OK I can't decide on a 3rd skill for one of my Norse Linemen:
Erik Skullhoofer 6 3 3 7 Block, Tackle, Diving Tackle
I rolled double 5s... I have been considering the following:
- MA upgrade and hope I live long enough to get Shadowing next.
- Sidestep to stay beside marked opponents if blocked and pushed back.
- Dodge to stay on my feet and get out of TZs to get beside other players.
What do you guys think?

Stand Firm
always a classic combo with Tackle...
plus, you can Dodge as freely as you want without any risk..
More Norse than Dodge I think...

Can't take Stand Firm, it's a Strength trait.

I'd go for the extra movement I think. I like the Shadowing follow up, and you never know when that extra square of movement couls come in handy.

I'd go with Dodge Anthony or the MA increase. The fewer chacnes a guys has to fall on a block, the better chacnes he has to reach an opponent the next turn... but you know that !

Bah!
Ant, sorry mate, I though Norse could get Strength skills and traits on doubles?
Lucy,

off you lanky
Ant, sidestep to maximise on that Tackle (same principle as Stand Firm, but a bit less Norsey!)
Lucy,

off again you overgrown Druchii

With tackle and diving tackle, dodging away from you is already a gamble.
Taking the MA and then shadowing would only make dodging away harder. But that means the likely route to beat your player would be to bring in an assist and blitz you off.
Dodge would help you remain standing on that blitz and also make it easier for you to get on the receiver if there is no open route, but still the opponent in scoring position is still generally looking for just a push to get your Erik Skullhoofer off their tail so they can waltz in for the TD.
So I would think sidestep. At least then on a push, you're still on the receiver and on a knockdown, you can at least make your prone body an annoyance. (then pray for doubles again so you can have blodge AND sidestep)

I'm a nut for extra movement. It's even more important on someone like this, who's job it is to keep up with opponents who will regularly be MA 7 or 8.

Has to be movement surely. MA7 Block/Tackle is a nice Blitzer, esp. on a Norse team.
Hell, with gfi's he could go 9 and put a Tackle zone on either Throwers or Recievers, very nice with Tackle/Diving Tackle. Can anybody say Strong Safety?
YKIMS!!!

One thought on the MA:
Take the MA, and if you start with Erik set up as your deep middle man he can then blitz sideline to sideline (15 squares side to side, that means six squares maximum between him and the target.)
USEFUL, especially with Block, Tackle, Diving Tackle.

Nope, just the blitzers! Same skill selection as Humans.
Well my first instinct was to take the MA upgrade so I think I will. This player is already a pain in the a** at MA6. I think the guys are gonna hate him even more now!

Muahahaha!
Thanks for the advice!

Dodge - a player like that is going to be a target so anything that keeps him on his feet is a bonus, especially with Av7.

Well, I think we have successfully argued well for all of Ant's options (including

some he hadn't even suggested and can't

even get!)
I hope you found this thread conclusive Ant, we didn't...
