Apothecaries and KOs

Don't know if this has been brought up before but here goes.

Q. Can you use the apothecary to put a player in the reserves box from KO e.g. at the end of a drive?

The CRP text basically says: An apothecary can be used on a KO or casualty. If the player was KO'd leave him on the pitch stunned, or, if he was not on the pitch, put him in the reserves box.

The second half of the last sentence seems to suggest that the answer to my question is yes i.e. that you don't have to have been on the pitch.

With casualties, it specifies that you must use your apothecary immediately after the casualty is suffered. It quite clearly makes no such stipulation for KOs.

I've always played that KOs can only be healed at the point of suffering the knock out. However, reading the rules suggests you can use it at any time.

Can someone in the know tell me the answer? Reference to the relevant text in the rule book would help. Cheers :)

[x] In before Darkson tells you to use the search function to find the recent thread asking the same thing were the answer is that you can not.

Cheers Grum.

So Galak states that you can't use it from KO box to reserves box. Although that's not what the rules say :-? Those who haven't read Galak's verbal clarification on here may well be using it the 'wrong' way (looking at replies to the other thread seems like many were/are).

In any case I have my answer as to the intended meaning of the rule. Ta :)

Well like Galak said in the other thread that was more an oversight on the wording when they altered it.

Not much of a game breaker either way

Agreed ... I'm stating how the rule is supposed to work. I'm not fussed if you use it the way you thought it worked.

To be honest if the BBRC was meeting again (which it is not) ... it might be that we'd agree to allow it to be used later but at this point all Apothecary use was meant and intended to be immediate use when the injury happened or you lose the ability to use it.
