Perpetual Motion Chain Push

Hi, here's a crazy question about a situation that will probably never occur, but I'm asking it anyway :

Image

Let's say the Ogre in this picture blocks High elf receiver. What will happen if the chain push makes a complete circle ?

-the ogre can be pushed himself and the chain push can go on forever ?
-the ogre can't be pushed ?
-a black-hole appears and swallows the entire stadium ?

Looks to me like you could push the Ogre but it would end after that as no more chainpushes are possible.

Now you just need to come up with a way to crowdsurf yourself. :D

Oh yeah, you're right.
Now let's assume the ogre has Frenzy.
What if i chain push the ogre away from the High Elf Catcher after 1st block ? I guess i can't perform 2nd block. But i have to : i got frenzy ! :D

If you had frenzy the ogre would have followed up breaking the last chain push

i think the chain push is resolved before the follow up move.

Follow-ups occur after pushes i believe.

Push is first, but you only get the second block "if both players are still standing and adjacent" (from Frenzy skill description). If the push leaves them not adjacent there is no second block.

The whole thing is moot, because the high elf catcher had side step. 8)

That said, the follow-up would make them adjacent again, I think.

My answer would be : the ogre can be pushed himself and the chain push can go on until four minutes turn limit! ;)

No you won't either because the Ogre will be forced to go North or Northeast because there are no players occupying those spaces. :P

Or perhaps they won't even let you move it because he'll need the option to follow up thereby forcing you to push the marauder or troll instead.

EDIT: I should also point out that by the time there has been this much movement in a Pact vs High Elf game someone is usually off the pitch.

Looks like you could go all the way around and push the Ogre, but that would also end it.

Ogre pushes the Catcher SE. (Ogre coach should decide at this point to follow up or not [but the rules don't require this]).
Catcher pushes the marauder S.
Marauder pushes Blitzer W.
Blitzer pushes NW Lineman N.
Lineman pushes Marauder NE into:
1) Ogre followed up? Then Marauder is pushed into the square NE where the Ogre was.
2) Ogre didn't follow up? Then Ogre is pushed into one of the three empty squares [N, NE, E]

The rulebook states that the follow up must be made before any other dice rolls are made, however, that could lead to getting to the end where option 2 is in effect, and the Ogre would be pushed to an empty square. But... that would negate his option to follow up?

Therefore in conclusion a black hole appears and swallows the entire stadium.

Why? He can always still move into the now-unoccupied follow-up square.

Actually you can push yourself: example on FUMBBL

Such selfpush will end at least to the square that the original blockee occupied, as that square is vacated the time the blocker is pushed there - no chainpush should occur after that, chainpush comes to rest.

If you add the players from the cards and start the pushing from an appropriate place outside of the accelerator circle, it is however possible to have more players in the chainpush than there are squares in the chainpush. This will cause as many pushes as the blocking coach wants. This may move some players more than one square from their starting position with the one block.

With sufficient number of players it is also possible to chainpush itself a couple of squares.

I leave the construction of these two situations as an exercise to the reader as I don't currently remember where those things were posted before.
