Blitz Actions - Help

Here is the scenerio:
------|-------
Y
------|-------
X
------|-------
X = My player
Y = Prone Opponent
Player Y stands up and declares a blitz action vs Player X. Now the players are in adjacent squares. To me that is considered a block and cannot be performed unless the player has Jump Up (which he does not)
My question: Is this a legal play? I know standing up costs 3 MA but is that considered a movement in which the player can blitz without actually moving out of his square.
I would really appreciate some "official" answer...
Thanks guys!

This is a perfectly legal use of the Blitz action. You have moved (you stood up).
If you had Jump Up, then it would be a Block, not a Blitz, so you would be free to Blitz with another player on the team.

Thanks martynq. Knowing this will help in my future games as I did not know this was legal so never did it.
You don't have to move to Blitz

Your question implies that you think you have to move first to make a Blitz. A Blitz action means you can move and you can make a Block at any time during the move.
So you can declare a Blitz and then block the adjacent player and if the result is not what you needed (e.g. both down and both have block) you can stay in the same spot without moving at all, but it is still a Blitz action.

Just to note 2 things (wich used to confuse me...

):
- In a Blitz you can make the block any time during your move... even if you didn't move at all!!...
- If a Bone-Head (or else) declares a Blitz and fails his (its?) test it still counts as the blitz action for the team...

bubb - what you have described is a legal blitz action, as has been mentioned. it's probably worth pointing out though that when using the horns skill, the player must have moved 1 square.
so, in your example, a beastman has not moved one square so cannot use horns - his normal ST is used.
however, in the example below, horns CAN be used
Y
--
--
X
Y= enemy player
X= prone player with horns
so XZ stands up (3 movement) moves 1 square towards Y then blitzes at ST+1
