Headsplitter? Rat Ogre?

I jsut played a match hiring headsplitter, my opponent hred Deeproot to counter this, Slimy toad!
Anyway why doesn't Headsplitter cost SO much, he doesn't even have block let alone frenzy, i know strength 6 and strength 9 are nice but if you you've got half the skills and a lack of any new ones! I'm not sure there is much more advantage to having him to be perfectly honest other than the 1d6 roll you can get against normal treemen! Makes me sad!

So why doesn't headsplitter have block while deeproot, str7 does, deeproot only costs 20,000 more or, hiring wise, 10,000 and yet he has that extra one skill that makes him not far off invinvible!

Headsplitter is even quite cheap if you consider that a rookie Rat Ogre costs 130K, besides that he does not have Wild animal, the most dreaded negatrait and he can use re-rolls. He is an awesome ball handler with AG3, ST6 and MA6. Look at M'Gorg, he has just +1AV and Block more than Headsplitter but costs 190K.

he IS allowed to use re rolls then?

I wouldn't mind his lacking in block if it weren't for the fact he's a starplayer, so he can't gain skills really!

Just looking at him, he seems like he should have more than just MB and Prehensile tail!
And Morg costing only 190,000 Block and an extra AV are actually Extremely usefull and worth a lot more than 10,000 in my opinion! I do feel Headsplitter is overpriced I'm not disagreeing he is rather good but just lacking in such a simple skill seems ridiculous!

All star players can use rerolls, since none of them have the Big Guy trait.

the fact he doesn't have wild animal and can use rerolls makes him worth it

and i hate frenzy anyway :p

Problem was, i pointed out that he didn't have big guy, but sadly my commish decided the fact he didn't was a fault on Gw's part, heh heh!
But then his deeprot didn't get them either!
Well if headsplitter can have assists now i suppose theres no reason i can't take deeprot on!

I have to play another match against him tommorow, same situation except my usual rat ogre is out and he's rather the leagues star player, i'm in deep without a paddle a boat or life jacket, but atleast i KILLED two of his!

Right......... well i played the match, the first turn, he'd won the coin toss, so I was kicking! *Grumble!* he gets Quick Snap! *Grumble Grumble* his Deepro't is moved beside Headsplitter, thankfully i have someone with guard beside! His very first turn, he blocks Headsplitter, 1D6, BOTH DOWN Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! HeadSPlitter goes down, up runs RavenClaw, glorified linemen with DirtyPLayer, headsplitter is dead! First damned turn.

I lost the match, i did, almost win, last turn of the second half my GR was stood next to the Touchdown line, sadly treeman ran up to my last hired rookie rat oge, so last turn was waisted, sudden death lasted 7 turns and he managed to drop it off, i did my best, no serious injurys, two MNG's and three badly hurts, i'm disapointed but alive!

You two had deeproot and headsplitter for two games in a row? Where do you get that kind of money?

We're the two leading teams, i HAD a fan factor of 20, he a FF of 14, both matches actually were well over the 179,000 gate, thankfully!
The first game was a semi final, the second was the league chaos cup, this is the first season where i've won nothing! Except the woodelves rolled a 1 on the winnings! Mwu hah ha ha!
I save up for semi finals and my friend saves up for me! Heh heh! My rat ogre has 52 Casualties to his name! *pride!*

I have a a question though, Claw, Razor Sharp claws AND mighty blow CAN all be used together if not on a foul so a guaranteed +2 to both armour and injury with the addition of the +1 from mighty blow on only one of them!

no you can't use all 3 skills, none of them can be used on a foul

you can use one skill on the armour roll and one skill on the injury roll, no more and thats only on a block, only skill that can be used for fouls is dirty player

Ah okay, maybe i'll be scoring less casualties from now on then, heh heh!

I knew about fouls, i tried to make sure no one thought i didn't, but oh well!
Thanks for clearing that up always sucks to be proven wrong though! Lol!

And blocks! You can never stack modifiers to armour or injury rolls (apart from Stunty).

Well, my Dwarves just played Skaven who freebooted Headsplitter. I must say that he was not productive at all.

2 times he threw blocks that resulted in a turnover.
He didn't get one casualty, but his regular rat ogre got 2 casualties.

Didn't do much but knock a dwarf around. I think he may have stunned a guy or 2 but thats about it.

The lack of block skill makes freebooting him questionable. I would not get him unless it was a Finals game and I had plenty of cash to spare.

He does have nice advantages i admit, looking at his stats he has few flaws, it's jsut that single block skill, to be honest i am very tempted to say his best use is ball carrying, sadly!

P.s/ When i said i knew about fouls i meant i knew that c,rsc and MB aren't allowed to b used at all on fouls, so basically, when the other guy said no stacking modifiers i knew what he meant! ;)
One problem though, where does it say no modifier stacking?
Because now my Mighty Blow skill is particularly useless!
