Dumb Question?

I can't remember the answer to this one so I'm asking it again.
If you roll doubles with a Big Guy ally, can you drop a negative trait? Under the most recent rules?

Nope. You can't get rid of Characteristics.

Go figure how Morg'N'Thorg got brilliant. He might just be Half-Ogre for all we know.

No he is just Heroic by nature.

Morg's the exception! I'd bet than no one ever saw a Bonehead Ogre develop into Morg using the old rules, which kinda "proves" the point that you couldn't possibly develop into such a player if you
were a Bonehead

I was just reading the old 2nd edition star players book,Looking at the serious injury table, missing x amount of games was a bit steep , but more real. Then the stuff about punch drunk, I think it was for players with head injuries.

So what if you could pick up bonehead as an injury if you recieved concussion, fractured skull under the current rules? It would add a bit more variation to the table. Or is it just a stupid idea?

Even if not for injuries i have thot about suggesting adding results to aging table. Results that could be added would be generic versions of the negative skills. Such as torn ligaments which would act like out for a bite and such.

It would certainly add more Character to a team

The BBRC had something like this on the table, but we ditched it for three reasons:
1. We couldn't agree on the effects.
2. We didn't have time to playtest it.
3. We couldn't figure out which effects and how frequently!
Ultimately, we settled on the niggling "base" for the aging table. And we simply doubled the number of niggling injuries on the SI table rather than introduce items such as Bonehead and Really Stupid.
Among our original entries:
* Bad Back: The player must roll to stand up just like a Treeman.
* Bad Hands: -1 to all attempts to handle the ball.
* Brittle: +1 to all injury rolls made against this player.
If you wanted to revamp the Aging table, you could do worse than this:
2 - Really Stupid
3 - Bonehead
4 - Bad Back
5 - Brittle
6-8 - Niggling injury
9 - AV -1
10 - MA -1
11 - AG -1
12 - ST -1
That version of Brittle would conflict with a popular BBC push to add +1 to injury rolls for each niggling injury the player has, but you could probably sub something else. The trick is to find effects that will affect all players. AG-1 on a Black Orc doesn't do much, mind you - well, except when he gets hit by a Fireball or stareds at by a Vampire, which isn't very often - but AG -1 is a staple feature of the SI table. Bad Hands on a Black Orc is absolutely useless, however.

I like that table. Another idea i have heard for niggles is to increase the severity of it, i personally like this idea for niggle:
4-6 Player can play the whole game
3 Player misses the 1st drive
2 Player misses the 1st half
1 Player misses the whole game

I wouldn't want to track the effects if I had a number of niggled players on my roster. The best suggestions I've heard, courtesy of BB Central:
* In addition to the normal effect, each niggling injury adds +1 to any injury roll made against that player.
* Roll the D6 before each drive rather than each game.
I prefer the first option.

Personally if i had a number of player with niggle (especially with +1 to injuries) i would be doing some hiring and firing or starting a new team. Not to mention the new handicap rules have some complicated possibilities too. I just had a match with 2 players with "im the greatest" and "in the bag" on the team. So dont tell me the bbrc cant create some accounting messes.
