Orc team skill ups

Post by Jackolas »

Hi all,
Played my league game today and lost :'( but 3 blokes skilled up!

My team can be seen here-

http://www.level10.org/BloodBowl/index. ... obj_id=146

The chaps that skilled are as follows;

#4- Normal skill- so general or str
#9- doubles- anything
#11- normal skill.

I have 2 Orc, a vampire, a human team & a dark elf team.
I have the Orc team to play next :( my skill choices I think are guard on the blitzes and the B.O.

I'm stuck with the doubles roll really though, I'm VERY tempted to take catch considering my thrower to give me another passing option apart from ag4 blitzer. However dodge is probably a smarter move.

What do you guys think?
Many thanks!

Just as a recommendation when asking for advice.. don't expect many to follow the link

#4 unskilled BOB - Block. I'd normally recommend Guard on the first 2-3 to skill up, but since you've taken Block on the others you may as well take it on all of them first.

#9 unskilled Blitzer - interesting decision. My recommendation with orcs is ONLY to take dodge on blitzers if you intend to take it on every double up. That's because most teams will have a bit of tackle, so one or two dodge is easy to negate, but 4 or 5 is a pain. I'd take dodge and keep taking it. If not I really like Jump Up (later combo with Piling On, but good anyway) or Diving Tackle (nasty with Tackle and Stand Firm). I'd never take Catch, it just is a bit too situational and feel like you are passing or handing off the ball too much if you want it. Pick it up and run to the end zone with the same player if you can.

#11 unskilled Blitzer - tackle because you don't have any and need it. The other candidates would be Mighty Blow or Guard IMO, but Tackle is more urgent.

Side Step is a good skill for Orc Blitzers on doubles. Keeps 'em in position to block, mark, cage, or move. Combos with lots of stuff.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

With the teams you have left to face, I'd take

#4 Block
#9 Dodge or Jump Up
#11 Guard
