Re: Late, but still out for advice
Hi stashman - this sounds like a fun match, and I expect it will be a wild game. I agree the Wizard is a good idea. It would seem to be the best bet for bringing down the ST5 Bull (I assume he is the default ball-carrier).
Have you considered a Saw + Bribe? I don't like the look of those Hypno-Gaze Hobgoblins. They will dictate play while they are on the pitch, especially on your offense. For example, you may be forced into a passing game, in order to prevent immediate attack on the ball. With good fortune (not to mention a re-roll) the 2 Hobgobs can potentially nullify 2 lines of defense! I am not sure which of the ueber-Bull or the Hobgobs represents the greater threat. One advantage of a Saw is that it might draw your opponent's fire and distract him from other important things (such as the ball).
It's a shame you don't have 450,000 (Wizard + Saw + 2 Bribes!). If you don't have a fouler, a Merc Lineorc with D-Player is worth considering (130,000). In any case, some sort of fouling strategy seems to suggest itself. If you are short of players, or expect to take much damage from the Claw CDs, Babes are always good (I prefer 2, but I suspect you will only be able to afford 1).
Varag is a good Star, but I am not sure that he brings much that you don't already have (especially at his price tag).
Hope that helps, and let us know how you get on.

I'd be tempted by Ulgroth, Bomber, bribe and the wizard, higher risk, but possibly higher reward.

I won against Gorgoth Flames (Chaos Dwarf) 1-0 and 5-0 in casualties!!! His dice was really sucky. I used Varag and Wizard. With Varag I had 8 ST4 players.
Next match was against Wicked Woodland Warriors (Wood Elf) and it was 2-2 with 0-4 in casualties!!! Hahahahahaha! I got bashed by woodies. Used wizzy, bribe and Ugroth, but Ugroth was lazy and out of shape. Didn't even hurt anyone.
Last game against Karak Hirn Hornets (Dwarf). It was win or don't go to final and I was overdog, but I induced a wizzy with petty cash. I lost after his super lucky one dice dodgeing slayer blitz and I didn't get the ball after that.
The finalists are Wicked Woodland Warriors and Karak Hirn Hornets. They will play the final tonight.
