Hi guys,
I have a 6,3,4,9 block sure hands blitzer that I'm tempted to give strong arm. I know the purists say keep away from throwing with orcs but o really don't think they are that bad, and this bloke could really be a decent thrower but still function as a receiver due to the fact I have a thrower skilled well already.
Your thoughts would be great
I wouldn't bother. There are far better skills to take which you will use far more often. If you already have a thrower then the receiver threat is what you need. Fend might work nicely for him though - it'll both keep him alive longer (not that this is a good reason to take a skill in itself) and it will leave you well positioned on anything other than DD/DS results. Dodge is, I think, a given if you have the opportunity.
I'd say do it. Do something different. Orcs should be able to have a perfectly valid passing game - there is not reason why not. Ag3 is as good as humans after all, and they have dedicated throwers and catchers. You could either build the guy as an Ag4 receiver, or, like you say, as a Strong Arm passer. Either would work brilliantly.
No, just no. If you are adamant about playing the pass game with your team, turn him into a catcher. Dodge, NoS, ect. Otherwise, you have two mediocre passers and no catchers.
EDIT: Nevermind, it got moved

I don't think a passing game with orcs is that silly. But dedicating a blitzer for it is where you're going wrong. This guy's a great receiver with AG4. You should make a thrower into the passer instead. With just Accurate an orc thrower does an ok job. The most important skill for a passer type is Pass as you need the reroll for other stuff, such as getting into position, opening a lane or catching, than passing itself.
This guy wants Tackle, Guard or Mighty Blow. Dodge on doubles.

I agree that orcs can and should build a passable passing play (pun intended). I also agree that an ag4 blitzer should be made a receiver rather than a thrower.
I know my orc team can pretty much throw on par with some of the Elf teams.Ork thrower AG4 accurate,Nerves of steel.Of course in the Video game my Ork team Da bruzers have a AG 5 Blk ork.that moves three squares. For me i would develop him in to some kinda catcher.Catch, diving catch, sure feet,Sprint.you kinda get the idea.

My Dwarf Blitzer is 6349 Guard, Sure Hands, Tackle, Strong Arm
(96 games, 23 comps, 30 TDs and 191 spp in total)
Well, it was his "last" skill, but I now I have great use of AG4/Strong Arm. If I'm in deep trouble, I can "punt" the ball away to keep safe. I can pass to the runners (that can take Nerves of Steel) so they can act as "catchers". If I get double on a runner or blitzer, I will try out Diving Catch skill.
Thanks for the reply. That's how I envision using this chap. Not sure If I can commit to choosing strong arm as a skill when there are so many more generic skills.
buy a goblin, and give him catch, flank him with 1-2 big brother black orcs, this will put a TD pressure in your opponent half.
In the meantime you can advance with the blitzer pack and the ball.
Strong Arm? No way. Hire a Thrower if you want to do stuff like that. Get something you know you'll use, like Guard. Maybe Fend. Guard, I say. Can't have enough.
