inducements chaos dwarves vs orcs
Hi I'm facing a really nasty 2240 tv orc team in the playoffs with my c dwarves sitting at 1750 (this could be lowered by 40 if I fire a rookie hob). I'm thinking wiz + either thank or nobbla, apo, bribe. My team most notably has one claw, mbpion dwarf and a st5, block, bt, tackle bull.. I'll have the roster somewhere in an old thread here. Don't have his roster, but they are loaded with mb and guard. What do you guys think?

Wiz + Hthark, offhand. Nobbla is not good vs Orcs: they're too tough. Hthark is solid. The greenies may be able to handle him, but he's a great player and a good value.
If you want a deeper answer, post rosters. Include FF/RR/staff. For instance, if your oppo is low on TRR and your FF is high enough that you won't give up FAME 2, you might consider a Master Chef and a couple AC/CLs, because 8 turns error-free is very hard for a blocking team. But at 2240, he probably has more than 3x TRR (including Leader), which would indicate that you shouldn't bother.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Re: inducements chaos dwarves vs orcs
Have used Hthark in earlier games against the orcs with pretty good succes, so also my first thought. My team is as following:
Bull block, break tackle, ST, tackle (mb) 55
Bull break tackle, block, guard (sf/mb) 40
Dwarf guard, mb (grab/sf) 19
Dwarf mb 9
Dwarf guard, mb (grab/sf) 25
Dwarf guard, mb (grab/sf) 28
Dwarf guard (mb) 12
Dwarf mb, claw, po (?) 41
Hobbo (block) 1
Hobbo (block) 0
Hobbo dodge, block, sure hands (kor) 34
Hobbo block (sure hands) 13
Hobbo dirty player 6
3 rerolls
APO
TV 1750
I don't have his roster, but know he has 4 rerolls + leader, so halfling pot is out of the question.
Edit: Could also fire a hob to get to 13 players including hthark and then buy an extra apo, that would give my opponent a babe though, but might be worth the trade?

You can't use petty cash that way. If you are the underdog and want to go above the inducements you're getting, then you have to pay the whole amount in cash.dines wrote:Edit: Could also fire a hob to get to 13 players including hthark and then buy an extra apo, that would give my opponent a babe though, but might be worth the trade?
Example:
1000-1140. I get 140 but want a wizard. I pay the whole 150k in cash and opponent gets 10k in inducements. The 140k in inducements that I was getting are totally, utterly wasted.

Re: inducements chaos dwarves vs orcs
Got pretty good value out of the inducements. Hthark helped lending a hand several places with his high str, block and mobility. The wizard stopped a breakthrough in the second half, that led to my chaos dwarves winning the game by 1-0 in TD and 4-2 in cas (all four blackorcs). So my team is ready for the finals for the second time. They won last season as rookies.

Hehe T1, first BOB was BH (lucky punch by mb dwarf). T2 my CPOMB dwarf killed the second BOB, but he was rescued by the apo. T4 the 3rd BOB got SI (-AG) with another lucky punch from a mb dwarf. Later in second half the rescued BOB returned, but the CPOMB dwarf BH'ed the last one.
