Troll progression on goblin roster
Well, I've got a troll that is advancing.
He's already got multiple block, and now I've thrown a double six. Do I go for +1 S or do I pick block.
I thought it's an interesting question for you guys.
Advantage on +1 S: He's ace and with multiple block, that's 2D blocks versus normal linemen, even without an assist.
Disadvantage: team rating goes up substantially, and hurt the opportunities I get to buy bribes.
Block just makes the troll that much safer to use. What would you do?
There's another troll in the team as well with Block and Piling on as well as well as 2 gobbo's with Block, and one DP.
Here's the teamroster after 11 Games for those interested:

Multiblock without the Block Skill is extremly risky.
So I would take Block

Block.
Then again he has multiple block - so strength 6 would be entertaining
Guard is better than piling on for those poor gobbos!

Re: Troll progression on goblin roster
He doesn't need safe. I played this team with my Nurgle (yesterday)
The first half ended with one stunned warrior with 1 troll and 9 goblins on the other side with the ball.
Vigfus stalled for 5 turns so he has now lost ALL rights on stating that stalling is forbidden!!!!

Re: Troll progression on goblin roster
It is possible that the additional security of Block is overstated. With +1ST the Troll is more likely to get 3 dice blocks (nearly as safe as a 2 dice block with Block), and he may also get to use Multi-Block more safely and more often than at ST5.
Hope that helps.

Re: Troll progression on goblin roster
When the Troll is blocked, Block helps him to stay on his feet, instead of being knocked down.
I can't count how many times, playing against Dwarfs and Norse, a Big Guy of mine has been knocked down by 1-die or a 2-dice opponent's choice block because he had no Block.
Block helps to knock down annoying Dodge players too.

Aren't ALL dodge players annoying (at least the dodge players of the opponent)MattDakka wrote:When the Troll is blocked, Block helps him to stay on his feet, instead of being knocked down.

No, they aren't, if you are playing Dwarfs or Chaos Dwarfs.Magictobe wrote:Aren't ALL dodge players annoying (at least the dodge players of the opponent)MattDakka wrote:When the Troll is blocked, Block helps him to stay on his feet, instead of being knocked down.
