Re: Summary of Chaos Dwarf
So I played two games last night on Fumbbl. I have a 1990TV CD team with two BC, max CDorfs and the rest Hobbos.
My First game was against humans with a TON of Guard, and enough block/frenzy to push most of my guys off field. Plus their MB managed to injur my star BC.
My Second game was against lizardmen. They had a Croxigor and 6 Sauri (all super stars). this game went much better for me as my defense prevented him from scoring on his first offensive drive. But I didn't have a player in range for TD by end of 8th. Second half was much different. His Str 4 + Str 5 proved much too much for my CDorfs as I only had a few guard on the table. Oh, and second game I had to replace a killed CDorf, and I dropped a hob for my 15th man, the Mino. (Sho seemed to only be able to push people about... even with frenzy.
So a few key points...
1) CDorfs need guard. I highly recommend it as a first skilll unless you get doubles for claw.
2) Star players Suck fat Mino scrote.
That is all for now.

As your league-mate, I have to say that we newer teams are simply bringing a knife to a gunfight. It's hard to win against a squad full of Legends when all you have is a squad full of Experienced players.

ll be able to re-build my squad after a couple of seasons of turnover and Good draft picks from failing at winning games.

Re: Summary of Chaos Dwarf
I think you're gonna have to manage for format.
1) With Dorfs, you have two options: POMB 'em up or Guard 'em up and be ready to rebuild 'em. No POMB means Bill or RFitz (or somebody, maybe me) will take them out on a block... unless your mass of Guard is overwhelming and nobody goes down on your side. This is easier to engineer with Orcs and "true" Dwarfs, but CD do it well too. Prone players are harder to take out. A bit of both, and your survivors will meet enough new Guard guys next season, you'll be good.
2) With Hobs, build them up as best you can. Don't get DP on the rostered Block guys: build it from rookie, and make these guys utility players. SH, Fend, Dauntless, Strip, all that goodness. One of my favorite Block Hob tracks is Block-Dauntless-Pro. Lets you win fights in space against big guys, and just needing one net assist sure makes it easier, but it's not worth a skill on a Dorf.
3) Protect the family jewels, er, uh, Bull Centaurs, esp if the game falls out of hand. Dying is for Dorfs and Hobs and Minos.

I completely agree, I think I'm trying to doo too much with each guy and it's spreading me too thin... oh well hopefully I'll be able to get em sorted soon.

Re: Summary of Chaos Dwarf
I got a long league so I am going slowly:
1 mino 2 skills and 10pts off his 3rd
2 BCs with 1st skill (block)
4 CDs with 4pts each
1 CD with MB and 6 pts off second skill
1 CD with claws and 5pts off second skill
1 Hob with a point
1 Hob with -1 AG and 2 pts (going to give him kick)
When all the CDs level up I am going to get more hobs.
Beat Orcs (good coach too) 3-1 last game.

I agree on the no skill mino, but he's getting better.dines wrote:Wing> at that lvl a no skill mino really suck! And strip ball is useless on a cd team in general anda dwarf in particular. Agree that you need more guard. But don't agree with you regarding stars, hthark is cool.
As for the Strip ball on a dorf, I can sort of see your point, as tackle should handle most agi teams. But Juggy/SB should work as a pretty good combo. And yep, moar guard!
I didn't use Hthark last time I used the guy on the Death roller, and he did absolutly nothing all game... and I even used bribes on him to keep him on the pitch. disappoint.

Re: Summary of Chaos Dwarf
Well if you really want a guy to blitz the ball free, go for the bull. He has longer range and can't be tied up as easily.. But why strip the ball if you don't have any reliable guys to pick it up afterwards? I see strip ball as an elf skill as they can easily capitalize on a free ball.Winged_Human wrote:I agree on the no skill mino, but he's getting better.dines wrote:Wing> at that lvl a no skill mino really suck! Hthark is expensive but for a reason. Imo one of the best stars at all.

Re: Summary of Chaos Dwarf
I don't take S-Ball on clumsy teams, as I feel the need to bring down the ball carrier, so as to remove his TZ from the ball. Thus I prefer a "man and ball" strategy.
Hope that helps.

Re: Summary of Chaos Dwarf
This does help guys... I'm realizing that I really need to re-build my team. So hopefully I'll have a decent season so I can retire/hire more guys.
