I'd always go for sure feet, then sprint and catch (yes, I know he's already got it; then side step would be nice)
sure feet effectively increases his MA and saves your TRRs

I'd never consider giving a gobbo diving tackle (unless they have ruled it again) but that's just my opinion

Current DT rules -2 to all attempts to dodge away from the player but you go prone. Use after the dodge roll has been made.

I would have though this was great for goblin teams myself (TTM them next to the ball carrier, stand up) especially if you've got Side step too.

While I like side step for the reasons given above in this thread, I would also consider sprint - with one reroll in stock, you could shock your opponent by marking a last minute match saving TD thanks to a player of a possible movement of 9 and his needing only 2+ to dodge anywhere...

This player is a menace to the entire league. Don't expect him to survive very long. If through some miracle he makes it to his next skill, side step will increase the likelihood of seeing yet another increase. If you like this gobbo, try and keep him alive. Get side step!

It's also the option that would get used most often in a single game, and the option that would annoy your opponent the most.

it's cool that you can choose to use it after the roll, but that's about the same DT that I meant that I would never give to a gobbo... at least on an orc team, because I only have one and I absolutely don't like to see him go down, he is getting enough bashing already

Its an agility skill so Orcs are using a double for it.

yes, I know, I meant I wouldn't give it to my gobbo on my orc team and not to my orcs, too.
on doubles, I usually got better things to give to my orcs (can you say guard (on linemen).

no offense intended.

I gave the little chap side step!! Always very annoying!! Already played another match and I won with 4-1!!! 4 TD for this gobbo!! He has been blits for 5 or 6 times (without tackle) and the couldn't get him down!! Side step worked great!! People are starting to hate this little dude  !!

Kick and Dirty Player come to my mind. 8)
Additional AV 9 Blockers are nice too, I'd say.

you can give kick and dp to blitzers. sure it makes the blitzer slightly weaker, but they're still better than line orcs. :)

my orc teams don't even start with line orcs...bobs blitzers throwers and gobbos. then i but an ogre later on, and finally if i have extra cash i might pick up a line orc or two to fill out the roster....but it's a VERY rare event that they take the field.

I agree with you wesleytj, I almost nerver start with line orcs, the are just not as good as bob, blitzers, gobbo's or throwers!!! I also only use them to fill up my roster!! But I wouldn,t give kick to a blitzer that's a waste of a skill!!! I prefer to give kick to a thrower or a second thrower!!

Because I like starting league teams with 3 TRR & high FF I always end up with quite a few Lineorcs and buy in the other positional players later.

They are perfectly good as DPs & kickers and are excellent if you have to stick someone in front of the Piling On RSF Minotaur.

Cheap and durable - do not underestimate them.

because goblins draw my average AV down :)

I don't have to field them, but I've still got some on my roster to fill the LoS.

I'm playing in a league right now, and I've got an effectively full roster with 4 BOBs, 4 Blitzers, 1 ogre, 2 throwers, 1 gob and 2 linemen (which I've used from the start).
I'm gonna start buying TRRs now and eventually another lineman (but I'm not sure bout that), I've got 2 empty roster positions to freeboot Morg when I get to the finale :P

but we're playing with aging, so I'm also gonna have to replace some players (I've already got a thrower with AG 2 :( )

peace
